Do you Suppose

We all know Andre designs the gowns worn by the women in the JSO.

Do you sometimes wonder if the orchestra has made any effort to redesign Andre's traditional outfit?  Wouldn't it cause an additional stir of excitement if Andre started wearing different outfits, in different colors, some with spangles?   If he had 5 or 6 different outfits, the audience would always wonder which one he'd be wearing for the concert.

If you had any input, what color or style outfit would you like to see Andre wear?

BTW, I just noticed Carmen will be appearing with the orchestra at the taping of the German concert in July.  I wonder if this will be a 1 time appearance or if Andre will be able to talk Carmen into rejoining the concert tour?

ModeratorBillAZ: I have to say this made me laugh. What an imagination you have.

Although I think Andre would good in some real, old fashioned country duds ala Porter Wagoner, or in Jose Contras jackets, I think it would not suit him. But it would make others take a second and third look.

I am so thankful Andre had a vision of women in pretty and colorful gowns. Could you imagine if they were in the traditional Black & White only? Ick!

Bill: We already had one of those. Name? Liberace. I would settle for Andre retiring the pink shirt and pink and grey tie. Must be treadbare by now unless he has a dozen or so in his closet. LOL

Liberace is the very person I had in mind when the thought of colorful outfits crossed my mind. I wouldn't want Andre to be quite so ostentacious. I do think the orchestra could, collectively, come up with something original. And I can also see Andre giving credit to the orchestra for designing his outfit. In fact, I can easily see a great deal of competition amoung the JSO members to see who could come up with a real eye candy type of outfit

You know who fashioned his outfits after Liberace don't you? ELVIS

Yes, silly as it sounds, they were friends and Elvis made those huge collars and studded outfits ala Liberace.

Now, I could see Andre dressed, as a joke, or as a one time special thing done with humor, in an Elvis outfit...but I'll keep him the way he is. CLASSY. ELEGANT.

        IMHO ~Sally~

Naw. I like Andre dressed just like he is. He is sporting new tails. Just my opinion, but if I had to vote . . . leave him alone. Barb Henderson

Hey Bill....it's getting hot in Arizona.... you've been in the sun too long. ) I bet you always got A's in creativity though. I tried some images you suggested but doesn't work for me, at least not for the live on-stage program. His costumes on the DVD "Tuscany" works so you may be on to something. Cheers from Tucson Barb

Excuse me Bill AZ, What you called a German concert in July, must be an Austrian concert. Don't you know that elegant city of Vienna is the capital of Austria?? Concerning the costumes: I am so happy Andre has a strong creative mind of his own and he does not need those "suggestions" by fans at all! Ineke.

Hi folks, I just agree with Ineke. André is André and he (and his wife) decides himself what to change or not. I like him the way he is, it's his trademark. By the way, he's a down-to-earth man Dutchman, André doesn't suffer himself to be trifled with !!!

I think that for most occasions Andre's clothes should be left alone. The only reason to change anything would be for a one-time joke for a special occasion. I also agree about the pink shirt and tie--he needs to have some new suits, sportcoats, shirts, and ties in some other colors. I will say, though, that with Andre's sense of humor we might see him in almost any outfit if he thinks it will enhance the program

HiYa Suellen! I'm with you. I like the Classy Look Andre brings to the stage.

Now seeing him in the Cowboy Hat last year was cute, but it would look out of place on stage.

If the entire JSO did an Elvis skit, or a 60's-70's routine...or om gosh.. a disco theme? I would fall off my chair laughing.

I think they are best sharing a bit of Holland with us. (the ladies in traditional dress) and Clogs.

I like Andre and JSO as they are also. This is really they trademark is it not? If You change now all the people would be diappointed maybe, at least I would. I love the colors and really do not mind black and white for the Gents. Vienna is the classiest place to show all these custums up. It will be wonderful hardly can wait. Kati

Right you are Kati. It is like a trademark to see Andre dressed in his tails for the concerts. He has such class and grace. We certainly could use more of that in the world today.

Hi Bill: Did you see the Estrogen Overload hags again? They have their panties in a wad over your posts. They make me laugh. They are always upset and rude. Too bad they cannot join the fun, but they are not fun people.

I like this question and it is fun for all of us who are playing around with the idea of Andre in new outfits.

He wore a nice outfit for his Tuscany DVD. I liked Andre dressed for Fencing. That outfit was neat.  But best of all is Andre dressed in his tails.  That is a classy man.  I've even heard other men at concerts saying how nice Andre looked.  Yes, the dark blue tails are just great.

I like Andre the way that he is. Classy, and well dressed. I expect him to be dressed this way...it fits the music and the quality of the show that Andre is bringing to the world. I think it's very appropriate and wouldn't want him to change. Just a personal opinion. Elvis wore what suited him...Liberace wore what suited him...Andre wears what suits him...and it is as it should be. I love his clothes. Marlene

My 2 cents: They say clothes make the man. I saw Liberace in a full Madison Square Garden when he wore a tux and was serious. My Music Prof. at Rutgers told me he was a real musician. Then Liberace began acting silly with his clothes. At that point, he changed for me. Like Marlene, I love Andre's classy look. His stance is great, and the clothes emphasize that look. Audrey

Hope it isn't too late to get in my opinion. Although, I agree with most of you."Leave him alone!" He is class and elegance personified. I think it would take away from that impression to have him in anything else.
