A Movie & The Super Bowl
My imagination is running rampant again.
The other evening I recalled a scene of Andre & the JSO playing The Second Waltz before a world Soccer Championship crowd of 50,000 fans. The fans of both teams were moving & clapping to the music.
Sooooo, I'm wondering when will the National Football League (NFL) sign Andre & the JSO to do the half time entertainment, in front of 100,000 football fans. at a Super Bowl. Considering all the celebrities that attend, I'm sure many, many will already know of Andre & the JSO.
Just think of the national exposure & the ensuing DVD sales that would happen if & when Andre performs at half timeof a Super Bowl!
I closed my eyes & tried to imagine what music Andre would choose for the occasion. Would Andre compose some music for the occasion?
Would he compose a melody for each team participating in the game?
Would he compose music for the city the game was playing in?
About the only venue Andre & the JSO hasn't yet conquered is Hollywood! You just have to know it's only a matter of time before some movie producer asks Andre to compose the music for a big budget blockbuster movie. It will be so fitting for Andre to compose the music for a movie with a great love story, like the Titanic.
Now I'm imagining Andre has composed the music, the movie wins numerous Oscars, including, best musical score, and I can see Andre walking up onstage to accept his Oscar, with the JSO, playing the music score of the movie & Andre not being told that the JSO was invited to play all the music all during the entire academy awards. Wouldn't that be the best Oscar award cermony of all time.
Just try to imagine what Andre would say in accepting the Oscar!
Funny thing is, all of the above is quite likely to happen sometime in the next 5 or 6 years, in my humble opinion!
Now it's your turn, close your eyes & let your imagination run rampant.....then share with us, the thoughts of your imagination <g>

My imagination is working overtime. I just imagined Andre & The JSO, at the Olympics, playing at the opening & closing ceromonies, playing the National Anthem of each country when they win a Gold Medal.
I even just imagined Andre & the JSO playing at the United Nations. It would be interesting to listen to "what" Andre might say in front of the entire United Nation delegates.

Superbowl??? I do not think so! It's not his target audience! Hollywood???....again, not his style! too commercialize on both accounts! But one can only imagine! You have a very vivid imagination. My imagination his letting him do what he does best!
I'm interested in why you think you know Andre's "target audience"? Personal friend? Business Partner? Ok, I was just being silly, thought I'd ask

I have a special where Andre talks saying he wants to bring classical music to EVERYONE. Andre said when Mozart wrote his music, it was for everyone. People on the street were whistling the tunes and that is what he wants.
The Super Bowl is to America what World Cup Soccer is the Europe and South America. I think it would be a good venue to bring Andre's music to millions. Andre would also bring CLASS and DIGNITY to the half time show which as saddly been in the gutter as of late. If Andre were the half time show at the Super Bowl, I'd actually tune in to watch it.
Andre's music has been used in many movies and Ice & Roller Skaters have performed to his music as well. They know Grace when they hear it.

I have to say that I agree with you Sally, 100%. I don't believe we should limit what Andre's target audience should or would be. I believe with all my heart that Andre could play at the Super Bowl half time with practiced ease! If we try to put Andre in a certain category, then we defeat all we stand for in life. People are certainly capable to do whatever they so desire, whatever that may be. The music that Andre brings to the world, is for the whole world to enjoy! I also agree with Sally that the Super Bowl half time definitely needs an upgrade in quality! Who's to say that just because it's a sports venue, that Andre's beautiful music wouldn't be accepted wholeheartedly? I, too, would turn on the half time ceremonies, if Andre Rieu were to be the star show! By the way that he is selling out his concerts, I believe that a lot more people would enjoy his show than we can imagine. What more pleasure would it be than to hear everyone say they would love to see Andre playing at the Super Bowl half time activities with his quality of music we all love so much. Let's hear "America the Beautiful" and "The Star Spangled Banner" ...played with the quality and class Andre and his JSO are so capable of doing...Yes, bring the beauty of Andre's music to the Super Bowl...it would be an incredible day! It will never happen. The American superbowl although watched all over the world, but Andre,s music just do not fit there. It is a light, romantic, friendly type of setting, yes You can be loud, move around, enjoy yourself, but I just do not see them in any of our superdomes. I love footbal, I watch all I can, I still think that is not for Andre and company. Kati
It's Hollywood that I truly expect Andre to first conquer. Once he does his first music score, I'm sure he will be in as much demand as John Williams, the conductor of the Boston Pops until 1995, was in his heyday. Here is John's musical score filmography:

Keith Lockhart is the current conductor & he is just getting started in the movie music score. Here is his contributions to the movie industry:

I didn't realize ice skaters have used Andre's music? do you have any names?
I love to watch ice scating, and all winter sports.Yes I seen some scaters with Andre,s music or the music He plays, like a fast paced hungarian csardas, they move with it, ot ice dancers, I have seen them. The music is maybe coming fromLehar or Kalman, but Andre plays it so well. Kati
