I probably would wear a pair of red boots, but I am not going, sorry, so I do not have to worry about shoes. Let all of us know, how the concert was, the program and all. I probably have the same program on Nov. 2nd here in Denver Colorado. All of You, enjoy it!!! Kati

Hi everyone, I will be there!!! It's so nice to see "my" concert finally here, I waited so long!!!

As far as the dancing shoes, it's one of the things that I never learned, was going to...started, but husband was jealous...never went back, that was many, many years ago. Now...feet and legs aren't up to it, but I will enjoy VERY MUCH watching everyone else dance! I will do everything else possible to "show my appreciation" to Andre!!!

Marlene, I miss you already!  A big hello to John, Marlene's nice brother!  Ruth & Jim, see you again soon! Gerda, oh my...Marcel flirting with you! Juanita, so glad to have met you & hope we see you again!

Becky, who talked with us in line..so good to talk with you and hope to hear from you!  What an adorable little girl in the red dress who danced to the Blue Danube.  The people in row 3  who were so nice, hope we sit near each other again! Thanks to Andre for getting that love sick woman a chair. (lol)

To the girl on the bike who ran the red light and got hit by a car.  Glad you are ok, but do give praise of thanks.  Had you been 2 seconds sooner, you would be pot hole filler now.  No more red light running!

I attended the concert in Portland, and was so excited to be there. I thought it was wonderful. Andre is such a fabulous entertainer and the JSO is the best. You can tell they enjoy eachother so much. I will plan to attend as many as I can get to. It was so exciting where we got to park as we got close to Andre's beautiful buses. I even went to the Rose Garden the night before to see if they had arrived yet. Hard to imagine their busy schedule. All the setting up etc. The lighting and special effects were just gorgeous. One of the most special times of my life. I hope everyone has a chance to see Andre in person.

I just loved the concert. I was wondering if anyone out there knows the trick to getting seats up front? I would have loved to have been closer with a straight on view so to speak, but still was fantastic. Well worth the money. Only bad thing is that it goes too fast!

Hi Marilyn: Did you hear the women one who said she was from Lake Tahoe? The other said Sacramento, California? That was Ruth Morgan & Myself talking to Andre from our Front & Center Seats.

Please email me a story of your concert experience. I'll create a page (like those you see on the home page). Send photos too and we will make this our Thank You to Andre for the wonderful night.

    Hi Fans,
I'm sure you are all anxious to hear about the concert in Portland. Before the concert, we had lunch on the Willamette River together with Marlene Warren. Jim was out walking, and we changed restaurants at the last minute because the one that we had planned to go to was closed. Marlene called, and I told her to look for a man in a Tahoe hat with a beard and bring him to the new restaurant. She found him and drove him over with her.
Well, the concert was fantastic as always. Sally, Jim, Gerda and I were sitting dead center and could feel Andre looking at us most of the time. We met Dan, the Banner Man, and Alice before the concert, and I introduced them to Marlene. Then, Franco came down the aisle to see Dan, and Dan introduced us to Franco. When the concert started and after they marched down the aisle, a little white haired lady was standing at the stage looking up at Andre. Andre borrowed Tuen's chair and put it down on the floor for her and said, "Now you are in the first row!" She sat there for the whole first half. Tuen had to get another chair. The concert was almost exactly the same as the spring concerts, and like in Dallas, Andre asked me and Sally where we were from. At one point, I was holding up my homemade Andre Rieu scarf, and Andre did a little twirl with his finger to me and I noticed that my scarf was upside down. I turned it around quickly. During the encores, we did the Conga dance and Jim lead the way, and we had a long line prancing back and forth in front of the stage and up the aisle. As usual we were sorry when the concert ended. Now, I'm looking forward to Sacramento and Fresno in December. They will be my 15th and 16th concerts. Sally and Marlene will also write stories. Ruth Morgan

Before the concert I could hardly contain myself. I tried to do my daily activities as if it were just another day. Even before the concert, my mind was not on work; it was on Andre and seeing him again. In the past year the anticipation built with every passing day. Then, like the year had been a blur, the time was here...IT'S HERE!! This would be my 3rd Andre concert, and the excitement was as much as the first!
To make things more exciting I was meeting with Sally, Ruth, Jim, Gerda and Juanita for lunch on concert day. What a wonderful time that was! The anticipation was almost as much as the concert! I loved meeting with everyone and to put a face to the email and voice was very special indeed!
We sat for over 3 hours talking Andre and other very interesting topics. I will remember this day for as long as I live. If you haven't done anything like this, then it should be among the top ten things you ever do! Thank you, all of you, for such a fantastic time!! You are all wonderful! My brother enjoyed meeting you very much too!!

    Now...the concert!
Before the concert started, Ruth (thank you Ruth) introduced me to Dan, the banner man. I VERY MUCH enjoyed meeting him and his wife. His banners have become synonymous with Andre’s concerts. If you read this Dan, I very much enjoyed meeting you! While we were all standing around talking, Franco walked up and Dan introduced us to him. I LOVED meeting Franco. Every since I saw him in “Live in Tuscany” wearing that outfit where I thought he looked so Italian…nice! And he was so nice, what a pleasure to meet him.

Sally and Ruth and the others sat in incredible seats , I asked if they wanted to switch with me - I wasn't as close but I had GREAT seats too.
Yes, I finally have a good seat to see Andre!!
The "Entry of the Gladiators" begins and Andre comes up the aisle, followed by the JSO. Everyone is clapping and the excitement has begun.

Everyone, this was an INCREDIBLE concert. Andre looked fantastic as he always does…he looked rested and was full of energy and humor and music and he was set for a concert that was the best I could ever have imagined.

As Sally and Ruth mentioned, at the very beginning of the concert there was this little white haired lady standing right up front and center of the stage, Andre was looking at her and they said a few words and then I heard Andre say “You came to see me?” It truly was hilarious…Andre got a chair from the orchestra and two men immediately ran up from the audience and Andre handed down the chair and they took it. The little lady sat on it, and had the best seat in the house at that moment!

There was beautiful music and the atmosphere was excitement and energy and happiness all rolled into one. There were so many enjoyable, humorous moments, the JSO and their antics …Andre’s humor is wonderful, his comments with the audience as they go back and forth is priceless!

    continued...

    Continued...

Some of my favorite moments with the music…there were twenty songs and 9 encores…all of them were favorites, but the ones that give us goosebumps are the ones we must cherish in our hearts and souls.
“Concerto d’ Aranjuez, “Ode To Joy”, incredible, “Don’t cry for me Argentina”, Suzan was beyond words, what a glorious moment listening to her sing this song! And then there was Andre’s incredible version of “America”, oh how beautiful this is! Violin solo by Andre, yes, goosebumps! The lighting and Andre’s expressions, makes one literally wish for time to stand still.

The Conga line was one of the BEST I’ve seen! Ruth’s husband Jim was the first, then Ruth joined, then Sally, then someone from the audience, then another, then another…I saw people literally running up to the line to join it…there must have been at least 50 people in that line! I’m sure Andre was very pleased.

When Andre plays “Lullaby”, it’s always a happy/sad moment for me, happy because of his incredible violin solo of this song. You close your eyes and the sound goes right to your heart. Sad, because when Andre plays this song, we know that it’s the end of the concert.
Please, don’t go Andre! More! Please!
It’s over, and now what? Do we have to leave? Can’t we just stay? Maybe he will be back; this isn’t over is it? We resign that it’s over…
Ok…Total anticipation of the next Andre concert!

To anyone who thinks the dvd’s are sufficient to see Andre perform, there is nothing like a live performance. The “moment” of seeing Andre up there in person, right before your eyes, performing his magnificent way, can never be compared to a dvd. But, dvd’s will do until the next time Andre comes to town! I'm waiting for the moment already.

Marlene, thank you for a wonderful report ... your enthusiasm is contagious! So glad that you and your brother had so much fun and enjoyed every part of the concert and the pre-concert fan lunch! I love the songs pieces you picked as your favorites...especially the first two. Argentina ... a haunting and beautiful melody...there is a phrase in the brahms violin concerto (third subject) where this musical phrasing seems similar to the Argentina haunting melody...thank you for sharing everything with us! Thanks everyone, I'm happy you enjoyed my words. I truly did have a wonderful time at both concerts...there is so much excitement at Andre's concerts, as you know. I just don't want them to end and we all know, that it takes time to come down out of those clouds after we have seen Andre in concert. The happiness is contagious and nothing really can bother us until we do come down...oh how I wish that it would stay forever. But, like the break of dawn it will be back, as soon as we are able to see another Andre Rieu concert!

Also...it's very nice meeting other Andre fans...it's as though there is a group of people ALL with the same common ground; we come from all over, and the excitement is magnified when you can get together and share. Kind of makes the world just a little more friendly, don't you think?
