Happy October everyone! Sally that is a nice photo to begin the month
I hope everyone has a beautiful month and I hope Andre is partying today! It's Andre Rieu "Party Time"! Hugs
Happy Birthday, Andre! Thank You & the JSO for playing in Montreal last May(2007)...on my Birthday! A Memorable Evening & A Fantastic Gift!
What a wonderful picture of our Birthday
"Hunk". Wishing Andre a fantastic day. Also, some very special pictures coming in with the Birthday Boy and his contagious "smile". Thanks to all and lots of Birthday Joy and Hugs to all.
Thank you to all in Australia who posted footage of Andre's appearances in Melbourne. I was so disappointed not to have been able to go, but hearing him play My Way and your cheering allowed me to feel a little bit of what it would have been like being there. I've finally been able to buy La Vie Est Belle and I get goose bumps when I listen and watch Amazing Grace with the 300 pipers. Can't wait til he comes to Australia next year and see what he has in store for us down under. Happy waltzing everyone-Kerri
Dear friends Do hope Andre has a very Happy Birthday. He may have flown home for a couple of days as he's not due to beging the fall tour in Portland Or. until Oct 9th/07/ Think he'll be pleased that Edmonton is sold out!! Someone picked up the last pair a few days ago. Have my carpal tunnel right hand on the agenda for Oct 22nd & will see the orthopedic surgeon shortly thereafter. It aches when I use the mouse & phone, & is a big nuisance along with being painful. Hope everyone is well Love Marianne
Happy October to everyone. I hope it's a wonderful month for all of you. I hope André has had a nice birthday. We all wish him a very happy one!
Tomorrow would have been my mother's birthday, it will always mean something to me.
Yes, that is a nice photo Sally! Very nice. Thanks.
Take care everyone.
Have you checked our PhotoGallery lately?
Read the stories on the HomePage?
Dear Friends, I am sorry if this is a repeated message, I thought I sent it before, but does any one have contact information for the Tampa Florida concert in April 2008.
Thanks so much,
Wendy
Thank you so much Sally for posting the great photos and comments on the website. It really makes you feel like you know everyone. Today I rewatched the Dreaming DVD and it was so beautiful. Can't wait until 2008 for the concerts in Australia.
Photo gallery looks good. Thanks to Toni and Kate from Australia for their contribution. BTW, have you all seen the newer pictures on Andre's news? More pictures of his Australia promo tour. Boy what a welcome he got!!
Wendy, where did they have the Tampa concert this year? You might check with that venue or the PBS stations there. I'm thinking it was in St Pete Times Forum, but that doesn't mean it will be at the same place this year. Hope somebody can help you. And yes, Happy October evryone. We did start out with a bang, didn't we?
Hi Wendy, please see the September guestbook. I posted all the information there regarding the concert. Hugs
Hi Jeanine Ann, Thank you I now have the information,
Kind regards,
Wendy Keighley

Welcome back, Kati. Hope you had a fabulous time. It will wonderful to hear about your travels.
If loosing my Luggage is fun, that is what I had. Lucky for me, next day They found it, and delivered it. Like First Class Traveler!? Kati
WELCOME HOME KATI! I sure did miss you. I hope your trip was wonderful and I know when you get rested you will tell us all about it. Love U
Hello Jeanine! I try to wake up with a cup of coffee in my hand, concentration is another thing! I will be back with stories in a couple of days, when I will find out if I am coming or going. Kati
SALLY THE NEWS PAGE IS BEAUTIFUL and the Photo Gallery is wonderful!!
ANDRE'S SITE HAS NEW GORGEOUS PHOTOS FROM AUSTRALIA and super news about his DVD's. Hugs
Hi Andre Fans!
I was one of the lucky fans to see Andre in Sydney at Warringah Mall and got his autograph... twice!
But the other exciting thing was I had my photo taken and its on the website for Mall Music! (the shop that hosted the promotion) I was the crazy girl that wrote on the back of her shirt "I LUV ANDRE" So if you want to check it out, go to www.mallmusic.com.au Then click on Andre's DVDs (on the left) then the next page has another link to his Mall appearance! There are other great photos there too! Enjoy!
love
Gabrielle
wow. thank you for showing this. What a happy girl you must be. I think that Andre is Australia's "magnificent obsession".
Hi Shirley!
I sure am one very happy girl! I have been smiling ever since that memorable day! I also wanted to post this news onto Andres website in the Guestbook. Would you or anyone know how to do that? I have gone over and over the website and just can't seem to work it out! The website I mean is www.andrerieu.com
If anyone can help me I would appreciate it immensley!
love
Gabrielle
Hi Gabrielle: Sometimes Andre's guestbook does not get updated when they are on tour. You'll find it updated everyday, then not for a few days. Going to Andre's site, pressing the Guestbook like and then filling out the form will get you in the Guestbook, but it might take a while.
Gabrielle, this is just fantastic!
Andre owns the Australian DVD chart.....article here
Good Article and Great News. (thanks for posting the link Bill
I notice even André is celebrating on his site! (as well he should)
Andre Rieu Owns
The Australia DVD Chart
by Paul Cashmere - October 1 2007
Dutch born violinist and orchestra leader Andre Rieu has 9 of the Top 10 DVDs on the Australian chart this week.
Rieu is without a doubt the most successful act on the Australian chart of 2007 so far and has virtually owned the Australian DVD chart for most of the year.
Every title in the Top 6 this week is a Rieu title. Only Pink shares a place in the Top 10 with the maestro. She holds down the number 7 position.
Rieu has a total of 12 DVD titles in the Top 20.
Andre Rieu tells Undercover that he will bring his orchestra to Australia in November 2008 for shows at Melbourne's Telstra Dome, Sydney's Telstra Stadium and in Brisbane.
Dates will be revealed soon.
Gabrielle, Thanks for sharing the link. Isn't it great that everyone is giving us new links to look at. Thanks again
Dear friends Does anyone know why the Andre guest book has been closed for over a week, since Sept 24this the last entry. Perhaps someone is ill as this is most unusual. No way to send B/D wishes to Andre for Oct lst except on the fans site. Otherwise all is well here. Typical fall weather for southern
alberta. Weather can't make up its' mind
whether to be Indian summer or fall. Very changeable!! Am astounded at the the Aussie sales of cds & dvds. Just over the moon!! Go to the hairdresser to-morrow a.m. to get my mane shortened
Haven't cut it in a year so it's the proverbial shaggy dog & with the injured right arm can't comb it so I guess it's time to go back to short hair
Like the long hair but it is just too much to look after properly. Have too many other things to do than primp in fron of the mirror all day. Am very much a wash & wear kind of person. As long as I am neat & presentable, that is acceptable Love to all Marianne
Hi Marianne: I'm certain it is difficult to update the guestbook everyday while on tour. The guestbook 'stalls' when the JSO tours sometimes, and there is the August vacation too.
Marianne, you have a lot of pretty hair. I think you'll be cute with a shot 'do'. I have baby thin Irish hair. Cotton Candy on my head. No can do nothing.
Welcome back Kati!!! Tell us all about your travels! Thanks so much for sending me the beautiful card, I was very surprised when I got it, totally unexpected and very appreciated.
Sally, the Photo Gallery is wonderful! I love it! So many nice pictures!
Next week! N-e-x-t W-e-e-k! Next week...next week...nexk week...next week...next week...next week!
Can't wait!
Lucky - lucky - lucky - lucky
Hugs
Hello Marlene! I never forget My good Friends, I am still just half awake, very tired, but I had a great time, lots of pictures and films, just need to get back to normal!? I am like Bob, Photoshows are coming! Kati
Hi Kati welcome back hope you had a great time away. Hugs Norma
Yes, I had a wonderful time, You understand, flying away so far it does not come easy on the body. I will be back with my shows and all reports what I have seen and naturally pictures. Kati
Good morning everyone. I don't know how many listen to npr radio stations, but I've been a regular listener to the classical music segment. Well it's pledge time again and yesterday I heard Andre Rieu's "Strauss & Co. Boy did it sound great!! (Seems I only hear Andre at pledge time), anyway I decided to make a pledge and told the lady I was only making the pledge because I had heard them play Andre and that I would really like it if they played his cds more often. Seems there is a request time on Fri afternoons, so we'll see if I can hear more of Andre. Now I can listen to Andre whenever I choose, with my own collection, but I'm thinking that maybe some have not yet heard Andre and even if they have, would also like to hear more. We shall see! This particular station is the only one I've heard him on, we do have another classical station and I'm not sure if they have a request line at all. That seems to be about the only way around here. Wish we were more like the radio and tv in Australia.
Dear friends B/D wishes to Sally. You do a magnificent job with this site & I
for one appreciate your efforts totally
I also have baby fine hair but it will take a perm so I blew the farm to-day &
it turned out very well. Still collar length but is at least wash & wear. I am so lucky that my hair has not changed since I was a kid. Still auburn.
It darkens in the winter but with the curliness the few grey hair doesn't show like a sore thumb. You expect the grey when you're 74 but my daughter has more grey than me so it has to be in the genes, which are different as both my kids are adopted. No bloodline, but I couldn't love them both more than if I had given birth to the pair of them. &
of course the grandkids are more than okay, so I have a full busy life. The weekend of Andre's concert I take a friend to Calgary, pick up Al's girlfriend, Friday a.m., sat to Edmonton
home & back in to Calgary last Sun so she can fly back to the coast. Lots of driving which is easy for me, & since it is a week beyond Cdn thankgiving the
traffic should not be horrible. Edmonton concert is sold out. Seating is 13000 people, good thing there is ample parking. Our friendship club has a potluck on Oct 22nd, so I will be cooking the turkey, dressing etc, & if we do our own catering for the Xmas party, will be doing another turkey. That's the easy part cause once it's in the oven you can relax, & the rest of the members do the rest of the veggies, spuds etc. Everyone pitches in so no-body has to work too hard. Oldest friend is 88, & she makes the best lemon pie I've ever eaten, & her apple pie is no slouch either. All is well here, Love
Marianne
Thank you for the birthday wishes Marianne;
(last time I got a perm, I looked like a poodle!)
Dear friends. See I left the r out of friend & didn't check it over My pal
Myrtle is far from the fiend, she really is a very fine lady. Also meant to thank Kati for the great pic she sent & welcome her back. When the regulars go missing we do miss them. Love again Marianne
Hello all Andre & JSO fans.. 'surfing the site', I discovered a page with DVD's.. one is called 'Welcome to my World' .. about Andre of course.. looks like it came out in 2006... does anyone know where I could purchase it, as I can't find it on Andre's own site.. thanks and hope you all having a nice day..
Hi Adele, That particular dvd was a "thank you" gift from several PBS stations for their supporters.I don't believe it's for sale anywhere.
Hi Shirley, thanks for the info... what a shame, coz it sounds wonderful..but you have saved me many hours of trying to find it.... thanks
Hi Adele: That was a special DVD given out to a few people by PBS in 2006. I hope one day Andre releases it for everyone to purchase as it is teriffic!
~Sally~

Hi everyone, Have you seen this one on YouTube? It is awesome!!
Jeanine Ann....that IS AWESOME !
To think I was there, and heard this Live. It was a highlight of the concert then, as it is Now.
It certainly is awesome! In watching André we easily see why he is tops in the charts. The expressions are priceless and the emotions are incredible, the music breathtaking.
Thanks Jeanine Ann.
Hi again everyone, just wanted to see if the link worked and it does. I was just sitting here watching Andre play "My Way" and I had tears in my eyes. His expressions are so beautiful. I just love this song and the man who is playing it
I just never forgot, that when He finished it, turned around and yes He got emotional for a minute. Kati
Hi dear friends, my Andre tulips came today
Hugs to all
I will be very interested to see what they look like. You'll have to post a photo on the website when they are in flower. It's too hot in Newcastle Australia to grow them successfully
Hi Jeanine Ann,I think my tulips should be here Sat. I'm still trying to decide where to put them. I think I dig the holes but not plant them til the end of Oct.I'm thinking under my redbud tree. I should have, and maybe will next time, order the Shirley tulips. The color would go quite nicely with the Andres. Then I can say Shirley and Andre are under the redbud tree. hahaha
I like that Shirley
Hi Jeanine Ann! Gosh, you are going to have a PRETTY SPRING ! We will need pictures.
Ok Sally, will do that! Hugs
Hello Sally
one day later, sorry, HAPPY BIRThDAY to you.Momentary I am very busy and it is hardly to read all my mail. Your website is so perfect and commendable for and from all fans of André Rieu and the JSO from all countries and states. On the whole world you finds friends and they come together. In December I am expected to stay a longer time in the States and maybe then meets also fans from André. Big hug.
The big question is Andre coming to ADELAIDE????
Yes - November or December 2008.
Hello everybody, sorry I haven't been on my computer at home for ages, but I keep an eye on the site from my work computer (Ohhh Ahhh). I must tell you all I am going on holidays in 14 more sleeps... ha ha my sister and I are going to Tasmania for 12 days, then on the way back stopping in Melbourne for 3 days. Every year I treat my sister to a holiday...she is an angel. She is the carer for her husband who has dementia, very sad, so I think each year she deserves a break away. Last year I treated her to a holiday in Hong Kong, we had a wonderful time. So as there is only the 2 of us now, she is the one I spoil. She is 15 years older than I am, but my best friend. And is also an avid Andre lover! Actually I feel like I have a lot of friends now (thanks to this lovely website)... I love hearing about everyone's life, and day to day activities they get up to ...
Now of course, as probably many Aussies are doing, is looking frantically for when the tickets go on sale for our concert of a lifetime next year. I probably shouldn't do this, but I have my heart set on front row seats...Hmmmm I will have to be extremely lucky I think!!! Well you are all probably bored with my ramblings ... It's now Friday evening here in Perth, Aus. and my working week has finished, so I wish everyone a happy weekend, and look forward to replying to my "New Friends" comments maybe over the weekend or next week.
Hugs and kisses
xxxxxxx Les
Like everybody else, I am counting the days for the Oct, 21st concert here in Denver!! I received my tickets Yesterday, happy to say, great seats, will be much closer to the Orchestra. Kati
Dear Leslie. Yes my dear we are all friends on this site & we share our love & esteem for Andre, his family the JSO & crew. We also share our ups & downs as friends do. When I read the postings, I'm never lonely, which does happen to us all. There is always something to pick us up, & that is the great blessing Andre has wrought with his music. Think he would be surprised & pleased that his fans have passed the caring on to some many folks. My concert is Oct 13th in Edmonton Ab. It is north of my city of Brooks, about 5 hours driving time so I am hoping for clear weatheer. We have a snow warning sout ,east & west of us, but think we will only get the rain. My concert is a sellout!! I hope my grandson doesn't jam out but I have two other people who would go with is he does. I will try to get there early & see the busses, & maybe autographs of orchestra members if
I am lucky. Would love Andre's autograph but he doesn't do that so much now as his concerts are so close together. A one day travel to Saskatoon
which is a good drive to the east. Think you will see the agenda for the Oz tour very soon. Likely late November
as the concert tour is to commence Nov 24th/08. A bit about me, I am a widow of 74, live in a seniors complex, look after the less able-bodied in the building as I still drive & do whatever I can to help my fellow tenants. I've been doing that kind of service since I was a teen-ager, so I somehow got into a life of small services to people. It makes me happy that I can do!! Canada too is akin to Australia in that it is big but not over-populated although the traffic gets a bit frantic around the larger cities. We are about 13,000 so
we have our traffic moments as well. Love to you & all the many friends here
Marianne
Hi to all,
Lesley, you are so sweet to "treat" your sis. I too took care of someone with Dementia. I just wanted to say what an angel you are.
Marianne, what you just wrote is so true. I don't post often but I read and it is a great site that Sally has here, and she has the best friends and fans.
Marilyn B
PS 3 more "sleeps" till Andre is here!!!
Hi Leslie, I agree with Marilyn on treating your sister. It is wonderful of you to be a caregiver. That is such an important thing to do. Bless you. Speaking of Tasmania, just how far away is that from Perth? What kind of country and climate do they have. My husband and I were just talking about that the other night. I know where it is located according to the map of Australia which I now keep because of you and all the friends who have joined us but do not know much about it. Thanks
Marilyn you don't have too many "sleeps" to go. I have not figured out the sleeps to Toronto but it seems like a long time but you know the time does go fast this time of year. I do hope you have a wonderful, wonderful time and I know you will. Hugs
Goodmorning everyone! (well, its morning for me in Australia)
You may already have noticed but if you havent, Andres Guestbook is open again on his website!
Just thought I would let you all know!
And how exciting to hear of everyone that has tickets to see him in his upcoming concerts! I am envious! I have to wait till next Nov/Dec 08... but it will be worth the wait! Till then he is only a click away on the DVD player!
Have a great day...
love from Gabrielle
Newcastle, Australia
Hi Gabrielle,
Where abouts in Newcastle do you live? I live in Kahibah. Did you go to Sydney to see Andre? It was just wonderful. Perhaps we may be able to get together sometime to share Andre.
Hi Gabrielle, it is just about 10:00PM here in the States in Pa. so I am getting ready to settle down for the night. Yes, I noticed that the guestbook is now open. Thanks for telling us. I know you have a long time to wait but the time will go fast for you. I have two months (approximately) until Toronto. I know that will go fast because we have the holidays coming up and so much to do before we go. It is hard to travel in December because of the possible bad weather in the North but nothing will keep us away. We will have a big fan dinner there and will meet some of your fans from Australia. That will be awesome. I am really looking forward to that. All of you have been so nice in sharing your Andre experience with us and we will certainly share our concerts moments with you and of course photos. Take care and I wish you good luck with tickets when they are available. Goodnight and hugs from America.
It takes awhile to catch up on everything. Glad to "see" you again Leslie. And Gabrielle, hi, love that name! Yes, your time will be here before you know it. I was listening to a couple of Andre's cds earlier myself. umm, umm, umm. All the beauty that's ever been lives inside that music! We're having more summer like weather here now but I'm sure it won't last long. I can hardly believe it's October already.Marlene, you're almost there! Kati, you're not too far behind.
Everyone, have a great Andre weekend.
Hello Shirley, I got up with the chickens again. I do have the tickets already, very happy, they are much better than last year, getting very excited I will take my Brother and His Wife and also a Dear Friend of mine with His Boyfriend, cannot wait. Kati
Did anyone in Australia watch "Inspector Rex" on Thursday night on SBS? The episode was called " THe Body at Schoebrunn". You could see the castle in quite a few scenes.
I had never heard of this program until you wrote this post. Very interesting! I always enjoy viewing shows from around the world. Helps me grow as a person. I watch BallyKissAngel from Ireland, Road to Avonlea from Canada and my all time favorite All Creatures Great & Small from the UK.

How neat you were able to see the Castle. Even better you knew what and where it was.
Good morning, everyone. It is inspiring and heart-warming to read the caring messages coming in. This website is such a great place to share stories. Just a few more days to go for those of us in the Pacific Northwest. I am trying to stay calm, but it is a losing battle!
Marilyn B., I am looking forward to meeting you as well as other fans. Have a great weekend. Marilyn S.
Marilyn, it seems that you are not the only one trying to stay calm! The excitement builds. Just don't get the shakes when you take your pictures!
That is great Shirley. I am going to plant mine on Monday. They tell you to plant asap but we have had a warm spell (temps in the 80's) so I did not want to plant them immediately. We will be back to normal temps by Wednesday so I think I can plant them Monday and they will have enough time to establish a good root system before the first frost - whenever that comes. I just want to be sure I do not push them and they start to come up this Autumn.
Marianne, you will have a beautiful time I am sure. I wish you the best of everything - good weather - good seats -good photos
Hugs
Dear friends. One week to go & I'll be in Edmonton!! Still don't know if my G/S is going to come or jam out. we shall see. but I have three other folks that would come if he does decide not to accompany me. Marilyn Bas &Marilyn Smith are both in the Pacific Northwest
which is country I know very well My Gt.Aunt & Gt uncle lived in Seattle for many years & since she had no children
Her husband was a senior Judge with the King Co supreme court so she couldn't go to work so she did a huge amount of charity work. She started with the campfire girls just before WW2 & when all the workers came from the South to work at Boeings, she worked with the various agencies to find them places to live. They were mostly black folks from the deep south, so for the city of Seattle it was much the same kind of culture shock, that my community had
when all the various folks came as refugees from the trouble spots in Africa. As a greeter at Walmart & even prior when I worked at the service station I met so many folks from different cultures & me being the curious cat I am I wanted to get to know
how their ideas differed from my own & the big thing I learned was that they all wanted peace for themselves, & children to grow up without being in the middle of a war zone, so they are more the same than different. Quite an education on both sides. Granted they are not all perfect & some are very lawless. but that's true of all peoples
Hope the two Marilyns' & Marlene have a great time Oct 9th in Portland. Love to all Marianne
Oh...I'm sure we will have a fabulous time Marianne!
I did it My way! I left for Hungary 3 weeks ago, taking along the most beautiful DVDs of Andre's new York, Schonbrunn,Romance,Dreaming and I needed a player also, because some of the
dvds are in PAL, I do have some in both system. So I collected a group of people, to show what They are missing. I needed to take my player also. I keep talking about JSO everywhere I go. I have to say it was a biggest trill for me, like I would know all the members personally, felt like I was part of Their group. Only I wish. I always wanted to play a musical instrument, never had a chance. This is one way to show my appreciation of their hard work, the love of the music, many of them coming from Hungarian composers, make me very proud, and I will keep doing this, as long as I am able to. I really would love to teach everybody to dance csardas. Maybe me and Bela could show?? Just kidding Bela. Kati
A warm and wonderful good morning to all my friends around the world.
Marianne, Maarilyn & Jeanine I can almost feel your excitement with anticipation, I do so hope your G/s goes with you Marianne, I wish I lived closer, it would be a privilige to accompany you. The days go so quickly, you will be there before you know it ... just drive very carefully.
A little bit about me, I am 49 and live on my own, unfortunately have been unlucky as far as a partner is concerned, although I am happy, very happy, I have my sister who is 64.Her name is Mavis. She is the air I breath at times, I love her to bits, she deserves a medal caring for her husband, I stayed over her place last night and she just gets up to him all hours of the night and never complains. So I try to be the part of her life that is happy, I spoil her with gifts and surprise her with holidays... at least she has something in her life to look forward to. Being a single girl with a good job, I can afford to treat her to things. We had an Andre evening last night. We watched the Maastricht concert and also the one in Tuscany again ... I can't tell you what enjoyment we get out of these dvd's. As I said I live in Perth Australia, if you look at your map Marianne, I live in Western Australia and Tasmania is quite a distance. It is around 4 hours flying time, I'm sorry I don't know the kilometres, but maybe someone does?? Perth is a very pretty city. The city is right on the Swan River and I work in an office with a beautiful view of the river and see it every day. Very spoilt.
http://www.westernaustralia.com/au/Destinations/Experience_Perth/Perth/Pages/Perth.aspx?map=Perth
I have attached a website for you to browse around. Jeanine - you and your husband should enjoy this site... hopefully it will help.
Marilyn, Thank you for calling me an angel, I am overwhelmed...but I think the angels are all of us... especially all the lovely caring people out there. I wish I could do more for my sister, but I work full time nearly 60 hours a week so my weekends are precious, I try to spend as much time with my sister as possible, we ring each other every day and I spend the day on Saturday with her. Would love to know more about where you live and your lifestyle Marianne,Marilyn & Jeanine.
It's Sunday morning and I now have the usual chores to do ... washing, housework and get ready for the working week.
Love to all

love
Gabrielle
Hi Gabrielle,
That sounds great. Ph 49430968. I might bring along a friend as well. Isn't the world a small place. People from around the world and we live less than 5 kilometres apart. Amazing!!!!!
Hi Shirley!
I can relate to the camera shakes! When I saw Andre in Sydney the other week at one of his Australian promotions, I was shaking so much, most of my photos of him are blurry! I think I was having heart palpitations too! I did calm down eventually and got some awesome close up shots of him... and I mean close! I could almost touch him! It was incredible!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CAROL LaCORE. I hope you are doing well.
Happy Birthday to you Carol! I hope you have a beautiful day!
Hallo André (&Sally)
Wij komen 10 October naar Seattle met een bus vol vrienden van onze kerk, om van het concert te genieten. Groetjes en tot ziens Ada
Hi Carol. Best wishes for a wonderful day. Marilyn
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAROL! WOULD YOU SHARE SOMF THOSE BERRIES I LOVE? Kati
Good Morning Margaret,
Thanks for your number! I will give you a call in the next few days for a chat and we can organise a time to meet for coffee!
Have a great day!
Gabrielle
Hi all, I am reading all these nice entries and it dawned on me that there should be a place where we could all list where we live in the hopes of meeting other Andre fans close by. I can't believe I am the only one who is such a fan here in Albany, OR. Our bookstores and other store chains sell Andre's CD's and DVD's but I get most of mine from Amazon.com or Ebay,as the Euro is so high now it makes it quite expensive to order from Europe. Of course there are some things I have that are only available at the Boutique.
Well, day after tomorrow all of the northwest will be in for a great day and evening. Andre will be here in Portland. Everyone I know is super excited, and me I think I am just a nervous wreck. Not sure taking Kyleigh is the best idea. but too late now. She has her dress, shoes, and all so wish me luck.
Sally, Marlene, Marilyn S. See you Tuesday. We can do lunch maybe?
Marilyn B
A place where we could list where we live sounds like a good idea. I was surprised to find that one of my co-workers was an André fan, and I had no idea.
See you Tues. or the day after tomorrow. That sounds closer.
Buy the André Rieu on His Way To New York DVD!
Lots of behind the scenes goodies. You will come away feeling closer to AR and company than ever before. Thanks to Zack for the recommendation.
Hi Terry. Yes, you're right. It's a great DVD to have. I love it. Also, the Radio City Concert was wonderful. I strongly recommend that one too.
Best Wishes.
Dear friends Thanks Leslie for the pics & info on Perth, It sure has beautiful beaches, that wgiter than white sand!!
Had a friend;s daughter wo met & married a man from Perth. Her two kids were born there, but sadly the marriage came apart & she moved back to Canada
with the kids. Her Dad is still among us but her Mum passed away 3 years ago
Went to my daughter's last nite for thanksgiving dinner. She is a terrific cook & we all enjoyed the evening. We played scrabble with a time iut to play "Life". It's quite the game!! Haven't played a board game with my G/S
since my own kids were that age 10 yrs
Looked at the clock when I got home & it was 2a.m.!! So it was a case of sleep fast!! Bear, sis-in0law Cherie Kathie & I played one game then Kathie toddled off to bed & we played two more. It was lots of fun!! Also very good for keeping the brain active.
Leslie, your sister Mavis is caregiver for her husband. Did the same for mine
when he lost the use of his legs. He also had a brain problem. Lost his short term memory. It was very frustrating to tell him what was going on & then he wuld forget, so What I finally did was repeat the days' events
many times & then he would recall sone of the things, so it was a bit easier.
This kind of situation comes with no instructions but you do cope a day at a time. Hope your trip to Tasmania was
most enjoyed by you both. Don.(husband) was in & out of hospital frequently so that was the only respite I received &
even then I did a lot of his personal care when he was in hospital, Two reasons, he was less embarrassed & I learned from his nurses the right way of
patient care. Looking back I wonder how I managed, & I don't recall that it was that trying. He never complained which was a big bonus & even after 15 years of widowhood, I still miss him. Things were not always good but now I came remember the good times & forget the bad
A change of perpective sure does wonders. Birthday wishes belated to Carol LaCore. She hasn't posted in some time so I hope she is as well as she can be. Kati's pic of Budapest & area are just loverly. Am gearing up for next weekend which will be a marathon.
Not only the trip to Edmonton, but also in to Calgary Friday to meet Donna's plane, then back in Sunday so she can go home. The weather is supposed to smile upon us & my G/S is coming with me to Andre's concert Hooray!! Still had another friend ready to go if he jammed out. Love to all Marianne
Hi everyone, just a quick hello this morning until I get back from shopping. Hope you are have a great day. Hugs
Hi Jeanine and Marianne. I'm here, just been busy too. Wish I was in the northwest right now! Gosh, why am I always wishing I were somewhere else?
Hello Kati,
I just saw your beautiful photos of your trip to Hungary. I had a feeling you were Hungarian from your name. I am too! But I was born in Australia. My parents were both born in Hungary! We have been telling our relatives about Andre. They had never heard of him! So I am glad you have started to spread the word in Hungary! I am hoping to go next year with my son. I will be taking some Andre DVD's with me also!
Thankyou for sharing your holiday memories with us! Its great to meet a fellow Hungarian Andre Fan!
All the best,
Gabi
I left my E-mail address on the other site, maybe You missed it, but if You would have more questions about Hungary, You will find it on that page! Kati
Good morning everyone. Seems like everyone is headed to the northwest.
Hi Shirley, I am planting Andres also today, in fact as soon as I finish this. I will blow them all a kiss and hope to see them in the spring
Dear Marlene, Marilyn S. & Marilyn B.
Your concert day is here!! You all have a great day as I know you will.4 days to Edmonton & G/S finally decided he would come with. He actually gave up a
trip to Calgary for the football game they organize for the peewee players all over the southern part of Alberta, so I guess I should be honored. Finally was able to get Kati's pics to play.
Budapest once was two cities on either side of the river. Think I read that in a book about Semmelwiess who did so much for medicine in that he had his doctors simply wash & sterilize their hands between patients. He was working in a maternity hospital in Vienna but his contemporaries didn't think antiseptics would make the difference in the very high death rate, which at that time was called childbed fever. He died in Vienna in 1865 of septicemia from an infected finger. It took some time but his idea was vindicated within the next ten years, & to-day you never hear of that ailment. Kati's pic are gorgeous & that is one beautiful city.
Very few of our modern cities have the lovely details of old world architecture. They are practical, but not much to look at. To get the craftmanship & time it just is too costly, so most buildings are boxes piled atop one another. There are exceptions with the space needly & Smith Tower in Seattle & each city has at least one unusual building. Thanks again Kati for sharing your home town.
Love to all Marianne

Marianne, You see now, why it is great to have this Blog, so all of Us can learn something new every day! The Capital City is called BUDAPEST. It is one city, just have flat side called Pest and a higher, like mountainous side called Buda, devided by the Danube. Buda is the more beautiful, but their are lots of beautiful buildings in Pest side too, with a lots of History in them. Kati
Hi Marianne, only 4 more days to go for you.
I am so happy for you. Guess you are getting excited by now. So glad Grandson is going along. You will have a wonderful time. I have been thinking of the girls in Portland tonight. I am sure they are excited! Take good care of yourself and get your "sleeps". Hugs to you.
Moderators Vinces, Lawrence or Bill please email me. Thanks
THERE'S GOOD NEWS TONIGHT!! I just heard Andre is coming to the Nokia in Dallas area, Sunday, April 20, 2008!! YEAH! Time and ticket sales have not been announced. PBS station KERA will have pledge drive soon so maybe we will have more info then. Kati, I loved your story and pics from Hungary! So happy for you that you got to go!!Hugs to all, Barb.
Hi Barb,
That is great news Barb. This will make a lot of fans happy who love the theatre type venue. It is a little far for us but since we already have three concerts for next year I guess we cannot get to Dallas. I would love to see Andre in a theatre atmosphere. Let us know if you hear more. Thanks and hugs
Maybe so many of Us could meet their also, like Shirley? Are You going to think ahead? Barb? I try to make it for sure, it is not very far for me. I love this Life, something else to look forward each day, and let Us hope, all Our dreams will come through. Kati
Y'all COME . . . YOU HEAR! Do you hear that Texas drawl with a Wisconsin accent? Kati, it would be great to meet you!! Come on!!! Shirley, Barb W., Lawrence, Audrey, Sam, Sally, Ruth, Charlene, Toots, Everyone! . . . Sunday, April 20, NOKIA, Grand Prairie. Time to be announced it says.
Dear friends. Dear Sally congrats on being an Andre Rieu ambassador. It is a title you have more than earned!! To Kati, I think Budapest was considered one city many years ago but in the beginning it was two separate cities, long before your time & mine. They were separated by the Danube so little connection until they were able to build bridges. It does date back,
many centuries & may have been established as far back as Roman times as they were all over the place. In the U.S. we have the twin cities of Minneapolis/StPaul which have followed much the same trail, but do have different city gov'ts as far as I know
It's just a bit of history that I read a long time ago, & remembered as a bit of trivia stuff . Hope you're fine as I am. Getting excited!! But it will be a bit of a marathon as my son's G/F is coming Friday so have to collect her in Calgary & more than likely will have to take her back on Sunday. At least, son Alan can do a lot of the driving, but I will drive to Edmonton & back & that's 5 hours each way so pray for good weather. Love Marianne
Marianne, did You also read about that in History, We were one Country with Austria. Austro-Hungarian Empire. That is the time, We have to remember about Franz Josef and Sissi. Kati
Hi Marianne, I will pray for good weather for you. the weather changed here from hot and humid to low humidity and 70's today but will get much colder the next few days and weekend. I saw some highs around 58. I don't like that but Autumn is here so that is seasonal. Wonder how everyone made out at concert last night
Dear Kati I do recall the Austria-Hungary empire from my high school years
All about the time of the ante-bellu deep south in the U.S. The ball gowns & crinolines were just beautiful & I do like the lovely gowns the ladies of the JSO get to wear. It was a gentler time, before all the wars ripped society to shreds, & we are still even now paying the price in upset that affect our children etc. Could go on & On but that won't change a thing, Just have to live one's life as kindly & decently as we can. If you can do one small thing to help one's neighbor, then you have done what you can to make it a better world.
My life philosophy, has come to the idea
"prepare for the worst, hope for the best & fly down the middle.
also don't worry about things you can't fix, & get on with the things you can fix. I have found thar it gives me peace & joy & that works for me. Hope everyone is well Love Marianne
Marianne, you speak volumes here. "a gentler time gone by". I like your philosophy too. Reminds me of this one,
"For every ailment under the sun
There is a remedy, or there is none;
If there be one, try to find it;
If there be none, never mind it".
W.W.Bartley.........
Hi Shirley, I love that! How wonderful if we could remember that! This is the rainest, coldest and windy day we have had since winter, so since I cannot do anything about it I am going into the city today and shop. Must also apply for a new birth certificate so I can get back into U.S. after Toronto concert. All of a sudden the certificate I had all my life is not valid without some kind of seal so we must both get new birth certificates (duh?) Oh well. Have a wonderful day everyone. Waiting to hear about the concerts!!
Hugs
Shirley, I have no idea, where You get these beautiful writings from, but I love them, I think, a Poet lost in You! Kati
Hi Marianne, You have a great philosophy, it is too bad those times will never come back. Kati
Here is a website of interest at this time.
http://www.th.gov.bc.ca/bchighwaycam/index.aspx
Andre and the JSO are playing in Vancouver, British Columbia tonight (October 11th) and tomorrow they will travel to Edmonton (YAY!!)
They will travel on the Coquihalla Highway as they head eastward to Kamloops, through Mount Robson Provincial Park, through Jasper National Park and on to Edmonton.
Some time Friday, we just might catch a glimpse of the buses as they make their way past the webcams on the Coquihalla.
We are back! After two days to recover from jet lag. things are getting back to normal. I Have made a short Photo Show of my birthday in Russia:
Bob's Photo Show
I took over 500 photos on the whole trip so more shows etc are in the works. I hope all are well and enjoying Andre's current tour in the US.
My best to all
Bob Ruark
Hey DJBob, welcome back. I hope you both had a beautiful time. Look forward to your story and the photo show! It is good to have you here with us.
Hi Bob. Welcome back. I am looking forward to seeing your photos and hearing about your adventures. Hope you had a great birthday. I was at the Portland concert a few days ago and absolutely loved it. I still haven't come back to earth yet. Best wishes, Marilyn
Dear Marilyn, Its good to go away and also good to be back. Glad to hear you had a great time in Portland. All his concerts put you in another world!
All my best
Bob Ruark
You know Marilyn, that is my feeling after every concert anymore, hard to come down to Earth. I think it is great! Kati
Dear friends Will try this again, it says the server is busy so I lost the whole posting. Thanks Shirly for the poem, it say it all. Am surprised the tour would go via the Coquihalls, as it is a high mountain road & this time of year you can get some very nasty weather
The yellowhead north of Hope is a much gentler road, as it fowwows more of a railroad gradient. Lots of tunnels, which our company did a lot of the lighting installations. The old road was NOT FOR the faint-hearted. Up. Down & around the corner, many places were one way traffic. This was in the early 50ties. It was quite the engineering feat. We even had to build a moving scaffold from one end of tunnel to the other. It really was an education for me as I'd never had a lot to do with construction, but I did learn & it was a lot of fun, along with the hard work
Love to all Marianne
dear friends Am off shortly on my marathon drive to Calgary & back, then to-morrow to Edmonton Sunday I will go back thru Calgary to pick up my son & then home. Took a look at the Coquihalla webcams. That was fun to see
the places I've been. Think it is too early for the tour to be on the road.
The weather is clear & 15 degrees celcius. Think that is about 65 or 70 fahrenheit. Don't think I'll ever get used to the celcius temp. Have the road speeds down okay but I do know if it is 20 celcius, it is comfortable. Jeanine Ann, you mentioned having to up-date your birth certificates, we if we want to travel to the U.S, we require a full fledged passport, which I shall get in the next year. A rather expensive necessity. Have all the forms but need up-dated pics which have to be signed either by a gov't official or professional person who has know you for a number of years. This of course is the result of the fall-out of 9/11.
Years ago I shold have gotten my dual citizeship, & now all the immediate
relatives are gone to their reward, so I
have to go by the present laws. Nuisance, but if it keeps the bad guys
at bay, it is acceptable. Sometimes we, Canadians just don't realize how vulnerable we are to terorist attack, but I am personally aware of the threat
Will be driving on air to-morrow, & when I get to the motel, I will phone you Al. Love to all Marianne
Dear Marianne,
Have a wonderful, wonderful time tomorrow and all weekend and a safe trip. Will be thinking of you at the concert!!
I am counting my days and nights, till my concert is coming along!! I do have a hard time with sleeping, now at least have a good reason not to sleep well. Kati
Your concert time is coming fast Kati. I am so happy for you. It is a good reason to not sleep well. You will have a wonderful time I am sure. Just get enough so you don't fall asleep during the concert haha
Not a chance!! I am waiting, when will They call me to go to up the stage to dance with Bela. I want to make sure, they do pronounce my name right. HAHAHA>Kati
Hi everyone, did you know that Andre plays "Tara's Theme" from Gone With The Wind" among lost of other songs?
Hi Jeanine. I have never heard him play that one. Where did he play it? Hugs back.
Sorry, forgot to say that in his new DVD "Andre In Wonderland" he plays Tara's Theme.
Hi Jeanine. How do we find out what is on his new DVD?
Hi Marilyn
I get a German newsletter from MusicLoad because I am always looking for Andre's DVD's and was surprised to see "Andre Rieu Im Wunderland". It is not for sale but you can see the track listing. Hugs
The above should be "Lots" of other songs.
Tickets for Maastricht concerts will go on sale Saturday, October 13, 10:00 - I guess that is their local time. That is all I know. Guess Ticketmaster would have them. Hugs
Got a ticket in 17th row, center. It was tough to find a hotel room though, because most hotels are already booked for that weekend, but I did get one close to the concert. If additional concerts are announced I'll be prepared to buy tickets because I booked the hotel from the 3rd until the 11th.
DJ BOB! What a wonderful way to spend your birthday! The photo show is great, but now I want to hear all about it.Who is your "new Russian friend"?And what instrument were you all playing? And who baked the birthday cake? I really liked the ladies in costume too. And, Jeanine Ann, while I'm here... no, I didn't know Andre played Tara's theme, where is it.
Hello everyone! Here is a working Woman speaking. I did start some traning with my Brother's secretary, to fill in, until He will find a Real One!!?? Boy, You talking of work! I try just 4 hours per day, that is hard enough, after I got used to do as I please, anytime I please. Who said Life is easy? I am thankful, and thinking of Bill often, not because I like His CHARTREUSE c olor, but He taught me how to spell it! I am sure, lots of Us great Fans haqve a good time these days, I am waiting for my turn on next week Sunday. Time goes by fast! Hardly can wait. Kati
Hey Kati, looks like a CHARTREUSE gremlin has given you a touch up.
I have to have a touch up all the time! HAHAHA. Not kidding. Kati
haha, well Kati, I gave that up a long time ago. But I know one thing, I'm not spelling "that word" anymore!
Hi Shirley, I do have to help my Brother out, so I try my best, and wait and see, it is His business, have to hire a better and younger one. HAHAHA> Kati
I took this photo at Rexall Place in Edmonton this morning. -Al Girard
Hi Al: Thank you so much for sending this. I wonder where the custom André Rieu buses are. They had them in Portland & Seattle. I thought they would drive them to Canada.
Did you see any of the JSO?
No I did not see any of the members.
Hi Al, thank you. I wonder too where the custom buses are. Have fun tonight
I wonder if these vehicles are in addition to the blue busses. However, I drove by the major hotels and did not see them anywhere. Perhaps they took a day trip to West Edmonton Mall.
Hi Al,
You are right, the silver buses are in addition to the custome buses and are used for the Dutch workers who Andre brings along on the tour. Hugs
Wow, the newest road soap is great, how much fun they all must have. This is just a hoot.
Marilyn B
It sure is Marilyn! Isn't it funny? I was laughing most of the time. When Andre says his orchestra is unique on this planet, he isn't kidding! Hugs
Where are you getting part 2? I only see part one on the Andre movies site.
Hi Al, click on Andre's photo, that will bring you to a page with the two videos.
Hello Fans & Friends Around The World
The Blog will be down on 10/14/2007 for about an hour, starting around midnight pst. This is for routine scheduled software maintenance. If you are unable to reach the Blog or cannot leave a comment, please try back in about an hour and we should be up and running again.
Hello everyone, Happy Sunday to all of you!
Hello Fans of Andre,
I love the felling that I am in a such great "music fan group"! I have booked successfully already for 2 Andre Rieu concerts (Duesseldorf and Berlin next year). Beside these two concerts I have bought also the ticket for the Maastricht concert on the 5th July 08, and this I ordered on the webside www.onlineticketshop.nl. But now I am confused because this is the only webside the tickets for Maastricht are being bought. And "they" (on that online shop) have debeted my credit card already but no ticket was sent by them to my home address. In the email I have received from them there is written that the ticket I have bought will be sent no more that 1 week before the concert. Now I am aksing myself if this is correctly done from their side and If I can trust them to send me the ticket. Can anyone here help me with this problem or maybe anyone knows for this webside better? I will be very thankful to everyone who will try with an answer. THANK YOU! God bless you DEAR FANS! Ales (from Slovenia)
Dear Ales: In the USA, we order our tickets and pay for them up to a year in advance. I ordered tickets for Portland Oregon, in 2006 and waited 9 to 10 months for them to arrive in the mail. (The things we do for Andre Rieu tickets!).
I worry about the 1 week prior to the concert. That is cutting it short as you have to travel. The same thing happened here to me, in 2005. I had paid for tickets to Dallas, Texas, only to wait and wait. Finally I called the Dallas PBS people, because I had plane tickets and was getting ready to fly from my home in California to Texas without tickets. The PBS there was understanding and FedEx'd my tickets overnight so they would arrive before I took off. But I was on pins and needles until the tickets were in my hands!
I love we have met 'online' and via 'email' & one day hope we will meet in person.
You are very much a part of our Family of Friends, Fans & Friends Around the World. I am happy you are here and always glad to see you.
~Sally~
Hi Sally, I have to say that luckily, so far, here in Europe, I never had any problems with tickets, and always received them well in advance, i.e. several weeks..
Hello Sally,
THANK YOU very much for your help, an to the others too! Your answer helps me very much. YES, the idea to meet you in person would be interesting and funny for me! And to meet the others from this GREAT group also! What do you think Sally, would be this possible in the future (for example on one Andre concert maybe) that we would meet each other in person? "That time" we can feel strongly the music also because we "will know" that around us there are many "GREAT friends" who also enjoy in listening such a beautiful "angel" music. What do you think about this "special" idea? My personal wish is THIS too! I will be attending at the 3 concerts (for now): Duesseldorf, Berlin and Maastricht (this one on 5th of July 2008)! What about you here? Which concerts you have the plan to visit them? Ales
Calling all Andre & JSO fans.! does anyone know when the tickets for Maastricht, 4th & 6th July will be on sale? thanks a lot
Hi Adele, the tickets for Maastricht are on sale now. I think Ticketmaster is selling them but I don't know how good the seats are. Let me check on some sites to see where else you can try. Hugs to you
Hi Jeanine Ann.. I know they are on sale for the 5th. but do you know if they are also on sale for the 4th and the 6th? thanks
Oh sorry did not catch the dates. Will need to check. Does anyone else know? Thanks
Hi Adele, I went to the various sites and find only July 5th. Will keep trying to find out for you. Hugs
Adele, try www.ticketmaster.nl
Dear friends Well my marathon weekend is past. All told from Brooks to Edmonton then to Calgary & then home to Brooks it was 1033 kilometres The concert was lovely & Andy enjoyed what he was able to see, as he got sick with a food poisoning bout, so we had to leave before the concert was done. Got the beginning of the Blue Danube, but missed the Bolero & the encores etc, but at least have Al Girard's pic & write-up. which echos my sentiments perfectly. Poor little Andy, he was so upset as he thought I'd be angry as we missed so much of the concert. Not so!!
Disappointed but no-one asks for food poisoning, & I am in the process of notifying the health authorities so it will traced down and rectified, as I am sure that other people got sick as well
If you ae basically healthy your body will throw it off, but folks who have underlying health issues, can succumb
to the infection. All in all it was a successful trip, & Andy's window of experience was widened, so it was not in vain. At least Andy was able to go to school this a.m. Still has a bit of a twitchey tummy but otherwise is okay.
Now I am off to do some grocery shopping for a handicapped lady here in my building so will sign off for now. Sorry we didn't get to-gether in Edmonton, Al but your pics & comments cover the concert as I would have done but for the young fellow's onset of illness, but sometimes one's plans do get detoured. Love to all Marianne
Oh dear Marianne, I am so sorry that you had to leave the concert due to Andy's illness. The poor boy must have felt really bad. Food poisoning can be real bad, had it in my 20's and ended up in hospital on vacation. I feel bad that you didn't get to see the entire concert because you do not get to go to many but these things happen. I remember my time in Tampa. I hope Andy is better now and I am sure he knows it is not his fault. The main thing is he is ok now. Hugs to you both
How long is a concert usually? My mother-in-law has tix for St. Paul, MN on Wednesday the 17th and we are working on logistics. Thank you! Fun to see so many fans here.
Lisa
Hi Lisa: Oh your Mother in Law in going to have such a good time! Everyone does it a bit differently, but I like to arrive an HOUR before the concert. It takes time to get inside and to your seats. PLUS…if you look around while outside, you never know who you will see. I have ran into most of the orchestra while outside before concerts.
The concert itself is around 1.5 - 2 hours.
Same after the concert as before. Don’t be the first to leave, you just never know who you might see. J
Are you going with your in-laws?
Her son (my bro-in-law) is taking her and my husband will drop them off & pick them up. It is the concert of a lifetime for her. She bought 2 14th row tix from pbs/tnt months ago. She has a hard time getting around now and so I am working on letting her use her wheelchair since the venue is so big. She will be able to get to her seat though.
I will be at dinner with our 17 year old daughter and some friends for her 17th bday.
Thanks again for the reply! So nice.
Lisa
The concert is almost three hours. The first segment lasts an hour, then there's a 20 minute intermission followed by a second hour and then nearly a half hour of encores.
Thanks Al ! Only fact I knew for certain is that it is not long enough. We always want more.
Hi dear friends, had real bad news yesterday afternoon. We took our oldest cat Honi to the vet for a cough and sneezing and the she found one very large tumor and two smaller ones on her tummy. She said it is breast cancer and is fatal. She only has about a month because in 99% of cases in cats the cancer goes to the chest which could explain the cough. We thought it was just her respiratory ailment. We are still in shock and I haven't stopped crying since yesterday. She will be 18 in December but the vet does not think she will be with us. All we can do is keep her at home and watch her. Honi will let us know when it is time to intervene. Please say a prayer for us and for Honi. Thanks so much.
Hugs
Jeanine, I am so sorry about Honi. I know this is a rough time for you. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs, Marilyn S
Hi Marilyn, thank you so very much. I really appreciate your friendship.
As far as the emails, I am not getting duplicates but lets see what the others say if they could please respond to this post. Take care Marilyn and thanks again. Hugs
Dear Jeanine Ann:
I am so very sorry to hear the news. I am hugging you from miles away. My Prayers for Honi, that the wonderful love she has given and received will fill her days and keep her in your memory forever.
Thank you so much Sally, I really needed that hug. Love U
Hi Jeanine Ann, so sorry about you lovely cat,Honi, you must be devestated.. as an animal lover, I understand your grief.. praying for you.. Adele
It's so difficult to see a pet in strife, and even worse to lose one as they are like your children. Sorry to hear about your kitty.
Dear Jeanine, sorry to hear about you cat illness, we lost our dog a few years ago and know how you feel. Our thoughts are with you.
Bob Ruark
You know what Jeanine? I am so sorry, that anyone have to go through any loss of any Pet. I did it once, just like She was my child, now my Dog is 11, large, usually they do not live long lifes, like smaller ones. You do have to concentrate on the past, beautiful 18 years with Her, and let Her go, so, She would not suffer no more! We will never forget them, just as painful as loosing anybody You love in Your Family, because, They are Family. Kati
Jeanine Ann, I'm so sorry to hear about Honi. I know that you have given her a lot of love and have taken care of her all these years. She knows you love her and have done everything possible to make her life happy. When it's time, you will again be re-united with her. My heart goes out to you and even though we know she will be happy, we miss our babies so very much.
Take care Jeanine Ann, hugs to you and your husband, and give Honi a kiss for me.
Thank you Marlene for your kind thoughts. I really appreciate it so much. I will keep you and everyone informed but I guess it is just a matter of time. You are right Marlene, we did do everything to give her a happy life. She is our Valentine kitty. We got her on Valentines day. Thanks again. Hugs to you.
My sweet web fried, I am so sorry to hear about your beautiful Honi, I too am a great cat lover. They bring you so much pleasure, and you have had her for 18 years, please know I am thinking of you at this sad time. Try hard to remember the good times and hopefully you have lots of pics of her. Warm hugs from me in Australia.
Jeanine Ann I am leaving on holidays on Friday (only 2 more sleeps) my sister and I are off to Tasmania for 2 weeks, it should be a lovely trip. Although I am having withdrawl symptoms already at the thought of not being able to talk to all my new friends on this website.... just imagine my tales when I return ....
Chin up sweet - you are in my prayers. Hugs and kisses Les xxxxxx
Hi dear Leslie, Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers. It makes such a difference in my life to have friends like you. I hope your trip with your sister will be unforgetable! Have a wonderful time. I will miss you for sure. Love and hugs to you
Good morning everyone. I have a question. Am I the only one who is getting multiple emails from people's postings? I have gotten anywhere from 2 to 6 or 7 duplicate emails from one posting. Just wondering. Marilyn S
Hi Marilyn, I've contacted my tech support about this, because I was getting no emails on some posts, and multiple emails on others. You can email me about this, because I will contact tech whenever this happens.
So, yes. I think the new upgrade we did here, somehow booboo'd the emails. hummm... so much know, so unable to learn it all. But I try.
And the Techies are working on it.
Hello Jeanine Ann, I am so sad to learn of your Honi's sickness. I am sure I would be devastated as you are. I will say a prayer for you and her. I can relate to losing a pet. Please know that we are all thinking of you.
Marilyn B
You are invited to visit my newest website on our trip to Russia!
DJ Bob's Russia Photos
I hope you enjoy it. It was like re living the trip all over again. Please sign my guest book and let me know your thoughts. It would be great to have Andre do a concert in the "Red Square", it was a beautiful place.
ALL MY BEST TO EVERYONE
DJ Bob
DJ Bob: Thank you for sharing those wonderful photographs of Russia. You certainly had a wonderful visit. There are so many pretty things to see in this world. Each culture and country has something to be treasured.
Hi DJBob, your photos of Russia are just fabulous! I really enjoyed every one. Red Square would be a great place for a concert for Andre. Wonder if it would be possible. What was the temperature this time of year or I should say when you were there. Being a weather nut I am always interested in conditions in other countries. Thank you so much for sharing. I can tell you both had a wonderful time. Hugs to you both
Dear Jeanine, The weather was mid fallish, the leaves were turning color and the temp was around 70 in the day and 40-50 at night. I received a email from Tamara (Our tour guide) yesterday and she said they already had there first snow fall in Moscow.
all my best
Bob Ruark
Thank you so much for your kind thoughts and prayers Adele, Al, DJ, Kati, Marilyn B and Marilyn S. What would I do without my kind and dear friends - I should say we because Clyde is hurting too. It is hard to look at your pet and know that any day now could be her last. I was so worried about Cotton (and still am) and never dreamed that anything was wrong with Honi. Thank you all again with all my heart. Hugs to all.
DJ I am going to your site now to see your Russia trip. I am so happy that you could have that wonderful experience.
Dear Jeanine, Am so sorry you are having problems with your pets, we love them to pieces, but their lives are so short compared to ours, & we are heartbroken when their time is up. They are like the children & we are bereft
when they are no longer with us. I was lucky that I knew an artist who did an oil-painting of my "Bear" dog,he was a malemute shephard cross & he went everywhere with me. He slept on the foot of my bed until he'd get too warm & then he laid right across the door to guard me while I had sweet dreams. The seniors apt. where I live allows not pets so I have pics & many memories of my critturs.Love & hugs Marianne
Even Andre's posters are good to have...
WOW what a beautiful poster of our dear Andre. I could take one of those right about now! Love it. Hugs
My thoughts are with you and Honi Jeannine Anne. Much Love Norma
If somebody has interest in it, it is to be possibly seen André Rieu in the TROS.NL, in his series "het sprookje André Rieu" dates on his web. TROS.NL see under video, selecteer programma and all programs are presented. press bekijk and the video will start. unfortunately all in Dutch, enjoy it.
René
Thanks René I love to see things like this. And I enjoy hearing interviews in Dutch, German, Spanish, Italian or any other language. I think it is best to hear things as they are spoken and it helps me learn.
Thanks so much René! It was interesting! My best to you!
André, a European Lawrence Welk?
Article here .Sally, what a great picture of our favorite maestro. Is it available so that I could get a copy? Thanks, Marilyn S
Hi Marilyn, I sent you email. Terezie sent that to me.
Thanks, Sally, I appreciate it.
Thank you Marianne and Norma for your kind thoughts. Love you both
Jeanine Ann to you and Clyde, my deepest sentiments and prayers for Honi a special pet that fill you lives with joy.
Thank you so much Martha. Will be emailing you soon. Love U
God Bless and thank you!
Dear friends. My G/S Andy is okay & didn't have any after effects from the food poisoning. Finally got thru to the right authorities & reported the problem
It is quite likely that other folks have reported the problem but to a different agency. Think there are an overall public health, plus the county districts, which was different from, my
own. I've had both E-coli & salmonella,
so I think that I may have some immunity to the bugs. One is a virus & the other a bacterium. Was hospitalized
with the E-coli, for a week, came home a\& it was a full year & one half before I got any of my stamina back. Am
thinking of going back to work as a greeter for two or three days a week.
Have to keep active & I can use the extra money. The pensions just don't
stretch very far. They just cover the basics & I like better stuff like Andre
dvds. Found the Bolero on La vie est Belle, so will order that from the boutique, as soon as the effteling dvd is for sale. Also want a 2008 calendar. but it cq=an all wait until mid-Nov. I notice that all posts have to go thru a moderator, to refuse unkind posts. The only one I can recall
is the phony Pierre one, some months ago, but I expect there have been others
I find it hard to believe that anyone can complain about our Maestro, who gives his all to make us happy & joyous.
Sometimes the ticket sellers get a little over board on the prices but I've not had any problem since I only buy from my PBS station. Tried ticketmaster the 1st time, had seats in the rafters. could see the show okay & the accoustics were fine, it was just the climb to the top of the arena, like
mt Everest. I agree with Al that folks should be on time, Andre & his orchestra were & so was I, & I came 500
or so kilometres. Hadn't heard either Mirusia or Laura live, & they both sing like angels. Each one is different
even tho classified as sopranos. That is the miracle of life, that we are all so unique. Read dj Bob's philosophy of
life & quite agree. Have lots to do this
morning so will wish everyone a happy day, Love Marianne
The best way to see André: here are a direct access to "Het sprookje André Rieu" It is easier for you. www.tvopjepc.nl/programma/1096
Big hug René
Thanks so much for the info and all of your help. It's much appreciated. You're great. Best wishes, Marilyn S
Thanks much René. BIG hug to you too!
Jeanine-Anne... My heart, thought and prayers are with you. I'm so sad to hear about Honi's illness. I can only imagine what you are going through. I will pray for strength and peace. I know that Honi knows just how much you love her and is thankful for you and Clyde. Much love and a big hug, Lorraine
Hi Lorraine, thank you so much for your kind words and your prayers. We are taking it one day at a time. Honi has no pain so we just take care of her until we must intervene. We dread it but it is part of life. We had her 17 years and will miss her terribly.
Love U
Marianne, I'm so sorry about Andy's food poisening. Thank Goodness he is alright! You have a great attitude and are very inspiring! Love, L
Hello Dear Fans & Friends:
Watch for new pages going up this weekend.
Do you have a story? Send it!
How is your day starting out and what is it you will do today?
~Sally~
Hi Sally. Nothing like a great picture of André to start the day. Talk about a close-up ! Wow ! I am taking the day off and I started my day by taking my guys Bobby and Bentley on a long walk with my friend Carol and her little dachshund Erica. So now I am regrouping. In an hour, I will take Bobby to the vet for his annual checkup. For the rest of the day, I will putter, read a book I am rereading "Murder with Peacocks", which is a fun book. Since my piano tuner came out yesterday and tuned and otherwise fixed up my piano, I am back to playing my piano at last. I have a wonderful arrangement of Moon River, and 2 others I am practicing are André pieces: Intermezzo (from Cavaleria Rusticana), Meditation (from Thais); and the love song from "The Godfather", I would love to get the sheet music of "My Father's Favorite" which I really love. It would sound great on a piano. So that's my day. Nothing on a schedule, which is the way to spend a day off.
Marilyn, I'm coming to your house! You're playing all my favorites too!
Oops, 3 André pieces - not 2. I added another one. I just called a sheet music place in Portland, OR. They had 2 pieces from Sense & Sensibility, but neither one was called My Father's Favorite. However, since one was called "The Dream", I took a chance on that one since that was how the piece was presented on André's DVD. I will keep my fingers crossed it is the same one. I hope others are having a good day. Jeanine, keep your chin up. I know life isn't easy now. I will be thinking about you. Hugs, Marilyn S
Hi Marilyn - it is friends like you who make everyone's day better. Thank you. I sure hope you can find that music. If I ever find it, you will get it.
Marilyn, try sheetmusicplus.com, they have it for 3.99.
Shirley, thanks so much for the info. I will get right on it. Marilyn
WOW! If that's doesn't put the zippity-do-da in your day what will???
You've got that right Shirley!
Yes, I do have a great story Sally, how on Earth a person supposed to go through 2 more days til concert?? I need an answer! I also need all the encouragement I can get. My concert is Sunday, I do have an Ambassador pin, and the rest, so how I could sleep for 2 more days, and go to the concert in one piece? All of You and the ones are speaking hungarian or english also, I just cannot wait, to see Them, hear Them, and enjoy the music at the same time. I am already crazy about this beautiful program, while, the poor Orchestra, try to rest it out, and make sure, They will arrive to Denver Colorado safe and sound. Kati
WooooHOOOO K a t i!! 2 more sleeps. Then it’s CONCERT TIME
Get there early, maybe you can see Béla
and tell him to dance with you this time!Oh, and the dance-man who goes to the concerts.
And best of all K a t i, Denon Andre Rieu Ambassador !!
I will try, and maybe able to talk to Him Hungarian, ask Him, how does He like the great USA? Kati
I'm betting K a t i will get only 1 more "sleep". I figure she will be too excited to sleep tomorrow night.
Bill, thanks for the colorful name. I like it better than CHARTREUSE, that is for sure. I have problem sleeping since a long time now, so no choice but a little medication. I will be OK. I am 100% positive, I will get rid of all the flyers and the adderess You sent me Bill, only if it was not addressed in "that" color!? Kati
Have you received your ambassador button yet? And will you be wearing it to the concert?
And DO send us photos! You with your Denon Ambassador Button, You with Bela, You with André!
Are you going to dance again?
YES,YES,YES I will, about dancing I do not know, my Brother will be with me with His wife, if He would as yes. Otherwise, I do not think anybody will ask me, the Friend and His Girlfriend are coming too, I already asked Him to dance with me Waltz or csardas, He has 2 left feet, so no luck there. The SNOW is here!!! And all of You out there, it is WHITE. There is a hungarian saying, when You definitely want to be where you planned to go, I will be there even if Gypsy kids falling out of the sky. That is what I will do, be there. I do hope everybody will be there. The snow just have to slow down, take your time and is wet and heavy,so big deal. This is the first snow in town, Bill, I will save some in my freezer for you!! Mayb e it will turn yellow by the time you will get it, but it will be unique, because it is frim Colorado!! HAHAHA Kati
Kati. I know you will have a great time, and probably will not come back to earth for at least a few weeks. (probably longer - I am still up there somewhere !) I am getting excited again because you are. Marilyn S
I better come back down to Eart, I have to work for my Brother, Tomorrow! I still do not know, what am I doing, so have concentrate! Kati
The rest of the story is, that I worked so hard Today, learning more than other people would in 6 months, very tired, but I am never tired for Andre's music. That is the Paprika in my blood. Kati
I did a story in,never showed up! I wanted to ask all the people out there, how do You sleep 2 more days till concert? How do You go through all the tension in Your life, when You are an Ambassador for Denon and Andre? I need all the help I can get. All the encouragement also. All the people out there, speaking hubgarian or not, speaking english, let me know, if You have some good suggestions for the next two days of my life while the poor Orchestra try to recuperate from all the travel? Kati
Hi Sally, the day just got better
Hugs to you
I’m just testing to see if the blog has been updated to permit copying & pasting documents from MS Word.
I use to be able to do it. If this works then:
· I will go back to the JSO Birthday topic & update the info + rearrange everything in chronological order.
·
· And I should now be able to go back to my 2006 concert report & correct the identification errors; I mistakenly switched Laura Engel with Resi Vahsen.
I was unsuccessful in trying to update the JSO birthday topic. I continue to get the same error message that says it contains office specific formatting
Hi Bill, it is not my favorite color, but it is one of my favorite mail, Thanks. Kati
I do have another story, The Orchestra might have the greatest experience in the Rocky's!!?? SNOW!! That is what's in the forcast, highs in the 30s; I do hope none of the fans will stay away because of that!! After all, We are use to snow here in Colorado? Kati
After receiving a post card from Kati from her home town in Hungry, I decided to never again tease Kati about spelling. And when I tried to pronounce the city, it took me 5 minutes to untie my tongue.
Besides, I'm fearful of being pelted by a blizzard of snow balls
Bill, You very well know this is not my favorite color, but I got one of my favorite letter from you! Thanks. Kati
Would that be a big surprise for you, from AZ? I hope it will blow over. Kati
I just went outside to blow some hot air over Colorado....to guarantee a nice evening on Sunday, for the concert.
Just remember, K a t i said she had some snow-balls in the freezer too !
I think it is safe to believe if K a t i throws any snow balls at me, here in Arizona, they will melt before reaching me......unless, she really puts some mustard on the throw AND, throws it on a frozen rope (yes, K a t i ; I've just used some sports slang).....I'm hoping you don't really know what I've just said <g>
To have a mustard, yes I do if that is on a frozen rope I do not know. Never heard it before. Live and learn, especially, if it does come from Bill!!! It is still very nice, I just have a hard time to believe this drastic change they did say. I better see the news! Do not change the color of my name, every time I turn around!! Kati
Dear Andre Friends;;; I live in eastern Colorado.. right where Andre will be traveling today.. It is lovely now, but holding my breath about tomorrow.. some light snow in Denver, but the buses must travel 600 miles over some 14,000 feet high Rocky Mountains to get to Salt Lake City.. 6 to 12 inches of snow predicted there. Sure hope they all stay safe. Our mountains are nothing to mess with in the winter, sure wish Andre could plan a better time to travel in them.. Oh well, he and the entire JSO will arrive safely, just concerned.... Have a good day friends, with Andre music, and my wishes for a super day. hugs and love as well.....Nettie May
Hi Nettie May,
So nice to hear from you. I hope too that Andre and the JSO will be safe on the roads. I am sure the drivers are quite used to all type of roads and hazardous conditions. Are you going to be at the Denver concert? If so, let us know how you enjoy it. Hugs to you
Netti May: You have the kindest heart. It looks as if we will be seeing photos of snow and the Rockies on André’s site again. I recall they had similar photos from last year, but this season’s weather sounds a bit more drastic. I too wish them well.

Kati will you be traveling in this weather? Be sure to get that 1 sleep, we want you alert and safe going to and from the concert!
Hello Netti, I am just 15 minutes away from the Pepsi Ctr, I will have enough time, leave earlier, maybe I get lucky to see some of the members also, but for sure, I will be there!!Are You coming also? Kati
K a t i, you sound very excited! Just remember to breathe.
Sally that is an incredible picture. I love it so much.
Hello Marlene, I thank you very much for your beautiful card, will keep it, for the rest of my life. It means a lot to me, knowing you through out this Blog, showing a wonderful person, behind the lines. Yes, We will meet one day!!! I hope when this card will be found after I am gone, will teach the future generation, how to get along with people, help them all, when needed, enjoy time with whenever you can. Kati
K
a t i you really do sound excited. Will you be taking photos? If so you better stop shakingJeanine , I do have a camera that has a card to make over 600 pictures, I think I will be OK. Kati
Kati, that will be a good start
K
a t i, Be encouraged! You are a world traveler, a historian, a teacher and A HUNGARIAN!!! You are perfect for the job of Ambassador for Andre. Just be yourself, and remember to breath as Marlene said! Hope the snow holds off...but if not, it will be beautiful...a white romantic wonderland. It's so nice to hear of everyone's concert experiences...everyone looked so beautiful in the Portland photographs.
Sally sounds like you enjoyed your Portland trip! Can't believe the "invasion" scenario....oh my gosh i have Andre tickets!LOL
Have a great weekend everyone. We're having a late summer. It's 71 tonite and feels like 85 with the humidity. I love it! L
Hello Lorraine,Marlene, Jeanine, You all have something in common with Bill, the color of your writing!!!HAHAHA! Sure is not my favorite, but I did enjoy reading your writings.I will be ready for Sunday for sure. I have talk to myself, I just have to do what I promised. I will be happy to do it, now that I know, it will be one of the most beautiful program I have ever seen and heard so far. I am positive that all the people I will take, They will have once in a lifetime experience!! Kati
K
a t i, I wonder what the guy did to our colors! Ewww!! Too much of it. Maybe he is playing a joke on us all?I am sure He does. Sally, I did have a beautiful package for yoy, Have received it? I did not hear from You, so I thought, I will ask? About the colors, I am just happy, for all the colors, really, means people want to talk to us. Bill sent me a mail, naturally, it was addressed in chartreuse color. My favorite. HAHAHA. Kati
Dear friends especially Kati. Think you have had much worse weather in your area than we have had up here. The storms were is Idaho & Montana, but didn't get into the cdn Rockies, not yet
Nor did we get the terrible storms they had in Michigan a few days ago, we had wind but no tornadoes. They had 11 with
much destruction & two folks lost their lives, but there were still miracles as
a family had much of their house destroyed, but they all survived, with their 15month old found under their SUV
A few bumps & bruises, but no major injuries. One sleep to the concert, Kati
Expect you're already on cloud nine. This year's program is really lovely, Imissed some of it but can get what I missed on the La vie est belle, which is
Ravel's Bolero. Marc Falize does an outstanding rendition. It is so nice to see folks back to playing their instruments of choice. I have a key-board & tons of music. Never had the chance to take proper lessons, but I can read the treble, so I tinkle about,
when I have time. I also listen to a music station that plays just instrumentals, with quite a few Andre
Rieu songs. Woke up to the Adagio in G-
Moll this morning & that is a good way to start one's day. You will do well as
an ambassador, Kati. In my area, more & more folks are getting to know our Maestro. His music, presentation & his overall dedication to making our world better seems to be spreading & that is such a good thing. Have to get to work on the books. Have some filing to do or I will have bits of paper all over the place, & that can be a real mess. Hope
everyone is well, love Marianne
Good Morning Marianne:
I like that, waking up to soft refreshing music. Very soothing.
Music is something I believe we are all born with. It is within us, at our core. All to a different degree, but there none the less. If you can play your keyboard and that makes you happy, then the music is alive. It is how it should be.
My father never took any music lessons but he learned to play guitar and piano by ear. And not just plunk around, but play beautifully. He was fabulous on guitar, and I was always amazed when he would play piano. He was quite good, and if he heard a song he enjoyed, he would immediately sit at the piano and play it as if he were reading the music.

Thank you very much for sharing this information with Andre Rieu Fans.
Fans & Friends Around The World. That is the true spirit of Andre Rieu. He brings us all Joy, Happiness and Harmony with his Music. J
Hello, I posted at least 3 times, none went in. I wonder why, it did say success, but it is not in. I like my colorful name, I do not know Bill, if You would meet me, personally, would think,. that I am really colorful??? Kati
Hi dear Kati, I will learn how to do your name in color. I am still in the learning stage. As far as posts, there must be a moderator on to approve all posts, that is why you must wait sometimes. I just got back and it depends who is on monitoring the blog.
I am getting jealous about tomorrow but I wish you the best happiness and joy when you see Andre. I will be there in spirit. Love you
I am on cloud nine!! It is my turn to have fun, and enjoy a beatuful afternoon. My concert starts 4PM. Their next stop and last in the tour is Salt Lake City, maybe because of the travel ,maybe scheduling problems for Pepsi Ctr. I do not care, I can dance csardas 8AM, I wonder if Bela would be ready this early?? Kati
Andre knows me from last year!! Carla was singing Juliska from Budapest, here an older Lady/Me/ showed up at the stage, were dancing csardas by herself. That was odd!! Andre got surprised, raised His eyebrows, and concentrated on Juliska, so did Carla! I will not do the same this time, unless a good looking Man comes and ask me to dance. I will have my Brother's wife there also, so I think, I do have rely on people, I do not know. I hope, We will Conga also! Kati
Have fun Kati!!! Will be thinking of you. Hugs
beautiful Sat. afternoon, me..with horrible head cold.. me...listening to Beethoven's Romance in F, by our André...total meltdown! soothing...relax...
{{{{Dear Shirley}}}} Do take care of that cold. I yum-ily believe in Chicken Soup, especially the good old-fashioned kind. And, try the new Zicam.
I bought the Cold & Flu Day & Evening pack, took it and presto, it knocked out the Flu like stuff I picked up at the airport on my way home from the last concerts.
go to zicam.com for a coupon too. it's not cheap so the coupon helps.
I do beleive in little tea and lots of rum!!I tell you why. We were in Hungary one year with my husband, He never drank a thing in His life! Had a terrible cold, and we got to the same place to eat daily for about 3 weeks. We went for arthritis treatments, and We had just one more night to spend. He said He cannot go. These people made a special setting for us, learned it later, I said, well, We have to eat once a day. So, He came with me. He ordered a mug of tea with a shot of rum, I said oh my God, He will die from this, to my surprise, He ordered another one, I said for sure He will be dead by the morning. No, He was very much alive and the terrible cold was gone! Kati
Hi Shirley. Hope you are feeling better by this time. Colds are NO FUN. André and chicken soup should do the trick. A little tea and rum shouldn't hurt either
Hope you are feeling better Shirley. Don't forget lots of André music and plenty of rest! Love U
Yes, the winter is coming!! By Tomorrow 8AM SNOW in town. The temperature will drop by 50 degrees. Will be in the 30s, hard to beleive????
I'll bet it isn't as cold in Colorado as it is in,
KISKUNFÉLEGYHÁZA, Kati's home town in Hungary . I really want to meet Kati, because I want to hear the correct pronounciation of her home town.Double Dog Dare Ya to say it correctly without extensive practice!
Bill I do hope We will meet some day! First You have to know I am KRISCH,the ABC is much longer than the english one.The Country is HUNGARY!!! Yes, this language is hard, Since You are the POLICE, might as well write HUNGARY, I did not say anything at first when You were puting together a lovely poem, but now I had to correct You. I got You , didn't I ??? Kati
I already posted something on this, but did not show yet, actually, it was very beautiful weather, summerlike, while I was there, I have not heard otherwise yet. They do have Indian summer also, in September. Kati
Brrrrrrrrrrrr !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Kati todays the day! Enjoy yourself! You will be a great Ambassador. Hugs Norma
KATALIN KRISCH
Bill, how about KRISCH?? Kati
Hi Kati,
I've just corrected both spelling errors, thanks for setting me straight <g>
You know Bill, I have been called Kirsch all my or rather Our life. Caused some very important problems, when it did come to billing, or try to identify you, so I just tell people right away, and hope the spelling will be correct. This was just for a tease! Kati
Hi Norma, I will enjoy every moment of it. We just got the forst snow, but, no big deal, by the time Andre and Company shows up, the sun will shine, I am sure. He know how to communicate with St. Peter, and most of the time, He gets His wish. Just have to give a little extra time to drive to the Center, and the rest is Seventh Heaven. Kati
Angeline & all Andre & JSO fans.. BE CAREFULL PLEASE!!!! www.onlineticketshop.nl IS NOT AN OFFICIAL AGENT for Maastricht or indeed any other tickets... I have had a nasty experience. I bought tickets thru BUDGET TICKET which is very similar.. paid euro 95 per ticket, and apparently will not receive them until up to a week before the event, plus, the tickets may well be in B section! I will try to write a fuller report later on today... DONT BE CAUGHT OUT!
Dear Andre Friends. It is with sadness that I write to tell I will not be able to attend Andre's concert in Denver this p.m. It is a 4 hour drive to Denver from my home in weather like this.. It is rainy-snowy stuff falling now, cold too.
It is snowing in Denver, at least at my grandaughters house in Westminster.. lots of it she said. I am a widow, and cannot take the chance of having road issues traveling so far.
Hope Andre and the JSO have a great concert, this weather may be a factor in the attendance... It is snowing hard in the mountains, hope they get over the high passes without problems.. Say a prayer for them all for safe travel....... Love and Hugs to all.......... most sincerely....Nettie May
Dear Nettie May, sorry you cannot get to the concert. Didn't know you lived so far from Denver. I am sure everyone will be safe. Bet it looks beautiful there. Hugs to you
Nettie May, I am heartbroken for you. I hope something can be worked out, but your safety if the most important thing.
I will pray for everyone’s safety as the travel to and fro. I think the fans in snow as well as Andre’s buses.
Give me a day or two, then watch your mail. A little something will come your way. J
For those who have not met Nettie May or are new here, she was one of the first to have a page on our Featured Fans: ~~>Nettie May<~~~
God Speed ~Webmaster Sally~
Nettie May, I'm so sorry you cannot attend the concert. I can imagine what it would be like to have to miss one. My heart goes out to you.
Kati, I'm thinking of you...I believe you should be finished with the concert by now. Didn't you say it started at 4 pm? Anyway, we will be waiting anxiously for your concert news! It's almost as though I can relive the whole experience again.
Hello Dear Wonderful, Kind, Caring & Sharing AndreRieuFans.com !
Check out our PhotoGallery ! There are plenty of never before seen "Behind The Scenes" photographs awaiting you.
Let us know what you think. Which is your favorite photo and why?
Hi Sally, WOW great photos. Favorite one is Vienna Before Concert with the Ballet School instructor and another gentleman - why because Andre looks like a Million bucks and that is what I would give for my second favorite photo - the all-access pass!! Thanks so much. Hugs
Hi Jeanine. I have been trying to figure out what photo is the one you are talking about here. I always love to see a great picture of André. Hugs, Marilyn
Note regarding Denon Ambassadors:
**This is an American Promotion for US concerts.** Denon is Andre's American label.
THIS IS WHAT I SAID, WHAT AN AFTERNOON?? WHAT AN EVENING?? TO REALLY ENJOY ANDRE'S MUSIC, YOU HAVE TO BE THERE, AND TRY TO ENJOY A LIVE SHOW! THE BROSHURES WERE FLYING OUT OF MY HANDS BY 5 OR SIX AT THE TIME, THAT IS HOW MANY SOME PEOPLE WANTED. I GOT TO DANCE WITH MY BROTHER ON BLUE DANUBE, I NEVER NEW, HE IS SUCH A GREAT DANCER! I MET DAN AND HIS LOVELY WIFE, HE SAID, I KNOW YOU! LIKE I WOULD HAVE HEARD THAT BEFORE, AT WORK. I TEASED A LOTS OF GOOD LOOKING YOUNG MAN IN MY TIMES WITH UNITED AIRLINES. JUST FOR FUN. I WANTED TO THANK ANDRE AND THE JSO, PUTING UP SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SHOW, WE DO KNOW, HOW TIRED THEY MUST BE, WISH THEM SAFE TRIP TO SALT LAKE CITY, AND A WONDERFUL TRIP TO GO HOME. PICTURES COMING LATER! KATI
Here it is Kati. Sounds like you had a fabulous time. Cannot wait for the photos. Glad everyone got there safe. I think the weather was pretty bad according to what I heard. Thank you so much. Hugs to you
Thanks for your report, Kati. I'm looking forward to seeing your photos but I know that will take a few days to get them uploaded.
Did you buy a program? I've never bought one, however I'm thinking André will be in Australia in December next year & may not be revisiting Phoenix in Dec 2008 ---so I'm definitely going to buy at the 8 Dec 2007 Concert
Hi Bill, no I did not get a progran yet, I will get one Dec. 2nd, I plan to go to Sacramento. I had sent a lots of pictures to Sally, so, I think, they will be up, and beautiful, whenever, She will have some time. It was just unforgettable!! Kati
s
Dear friends, to-night is the final concert in Salt Lake City, & the JSO & Andre can head home for a well deserved break. Back on the road again Dec lst.
Kati I know you really enjoyed the Denver concert despite the bad weather.
Snow can be bad on the roads for travellers, but I think what is facing so many counties in So Calif. with the
wild fires. One interviewee said she thought the flames were at least 30 feet high. Very scary & devastating. So
far no loss of life which is a blessing. Had a house fire some years ago & tho the house was saved I did lose mementoes which are irreplaceable.
Not much fun. Shirley, I hope your cold is better. I don't get colds since I began a regimen of vit D in Jan 99. 1000
mg but have reduced the strength to 400
mg, & it seems to do the job. One side benefit, that has been recognized by the AMA, is it also protects men & women from breast cancer. It's worth a try, & it has worked for me. Expect there will be an up-date in the guest book & news, which I am sure everyone is
hoping to hear. Love to all Marianne
I could say, I told you so! By the early afternoon, the sun came out, around 1:30PM, this was Andre's connection with PETER! Driving was not bad at all in town, I can imagine, maybe coming from further. I met people from Colorado Springs, it is about 90 miles South from Denver. It was unforgettable!! Pictures are with Sally, so it is up to Her timing now. Kati
Dear friends. Really loved Kati's comments on the Denver concert, which I expect was fantastic as all the live concerts are. My fav pic is the Efteling castle, which is like dreamland
can hardly wait for the dvd, which I beleive, will be Andre in Wonderland. Also hope Shirley is over her cold. I take 400 Mg of vitamin D daily & haven't had a cold since Jan 99. I had started with 1000 intl units, but decreased the dosage about a year ago. None of us produce enough of the Vitamin
as it requires sunlight & with so many working primarily indoors we just don"t get enough of old Sol. Also it has been found to be a benefit in the prevention of breast cancer. That is a recent note
from the AMA, so I expect it is a bondafide. SaltLake City is the last stop on this part of the tour, so I hope they all have a good trip home, & a well deserved break from the constant travelling, which even tho you enjoy, there is still no place like home. Love to all Marianne
Hi all, am feeling some better but not up to par yet, what ever kind of bug it is had my name on it!I haven't felt this bad since the Asian flu, years ago.I'm trying to catch up on all the pictures etc. Nettie, i'm so sorry you had to miss your concert. as for my favorite picture(S), I always like the one's where Andre is dancing & having fun. Shows his love of life. Kati, I'm looking forward to your pictures.
Hi Shirley, glad you are getting better. Was just thinking of emailing you. Hope you are getting lots of rest. Just take care of yourself. I have a funny story to tell you about the Andre tulips when you are feeling better. Don't forget - lots of chicken soup and LARGE doses of Andre's music. Love U
Shirey, i am glad you are feeling better. I had a very nice story about your cold, that happenned way back in Hungary to my husband. He was so sick with the cold, we did go for his treatments, ate at the same restaurant daily, finally, we had just one more night to stay, He said, cannot go to eat. I said, we have to eat once a day! Turned out, the people made the table so special for us, for our last meal with them. My husband never drank a thing in his life. He ordered a mug of tea with a shot of rum, I said, my God, He will be dead, to my surprise, He ordered another one. I said, He for sure will die by the morning. Next morning looking at Him, very much alive, but no cold!! Ever since, I say, little tea and lots of rum!! Kati
Hi Shirley,
I like to take several 200 mg's of ester C as a supplement when I feel something coming on.
I forgot about the ester C, but am using the Zicam, but this came on so fast, Fri morning was fine, Fri nite, ZAP!But,I will be better when I get some energy back. Marlene. I too have been watching the fires in Ca, such devastation. But I love the spirit of the people. San Diego has done very well at locating the people to the football stadium, looks like they learned from the Karina mess.We need to keep up our prayers for the firefighters. They are certainly the heroes here. Jeanina Ann, now I'm curious about your Andre tulips. I can't imagine. And yes, chicken noodle soup! If I never see another chicken or noodle for quite awhile I'll be happy! Kati's rum is sounding really good!!Kati, you would have thought I'd been hitting the bottle Sun night when I fell out of bed. I had gotten up and came back to get into bed, not knowing Jazz had taken my spot. When I sat on the edge of the bed, I sat on her. She yelled, I jumped up, lost my balance, fell and rolled back, hitting my head on the wall.Dan woke up, asked what I was doing, just told him I missed the bed. I don't know what ever happened to Jazz. I went back to sleep!
Shirley, I'm sorry, but I had to laugh at you missing the bed. I hope you didn't hurt yourself! It's amazing what we do to avoid sitting on, stepping on, dropping or scaring our pets!
Ok, I'm curious about the André Tulips also. I got mine a few days ago, but haven't planted them yet. I have absolutely no experience in planting bulbs. Do we put them in the freezer first? Do we just go ahead and plant them in the ground? I want to plant mine in pots...will they still come up ok if I do? I don't know that we have enough cold weather here to get them cold enough to do anything. Ok, so many questions, can you help? I really want to see these tulips in all their glory next spring!
Jeanine Ann...I'm as curious as Shirley is about something funny concerning your tulips.
I've never tried to raise Tulips, but I have raised Gladiola (they were Dutch bulbs). I planted them in spring, about 8" deep, if memory serves me correct
Hi everyone, ok first the planting of the tulips. Do not put them in the freezer or fridge. Plant them right away when you get them. They are always sent with your time zone in mind. Now I know we have had an unusually warm October but they will be ok. They must be planted before the first freeze so they have time to develop a good root structure. After that just let mother nature takes its course. If they come up prematurely just let them go. The tulips are planted about 6 inches deep and in a hole twice the size of the bulb. I put a little bulb tone with the ground.
Ok, now the cute story. This came from our neighbor who was watching us plant from inside her house. We were down on all fours with our bulbs lined up and all the holes dug. As we were planting she watched a squirrel come up in back of us and snatch one of my nice Andre bulbs and take off with it and the squirrel planted it in her garden. We were both unaware of this and that made it funny. I just hope the little guy planted it right side up.
Yes you can plant the tulips in pots. First put them in the refrigerator for several weeks. That will help force them to grow and then put them in the pots the same way you would put them in the ground. Hope this helps. Hugs
I love that squirrel story! Wonder if he'll remember where he buried the tulip? That would have been a good one to capture on a video. I thought about doing a pot but might try that too, if these multiply.I mixed a little bonemeal with the soil I covered them up with, then watered it in.Hopefully they will now rest until spring, then I might sprinkle a little top dressing of bonemeal when they peek out of the ground. I'm not sure when they bloom, are you? I have some early bloomers and then some that come later.Guess we shall see.
I'm with webmommie on this one.....I, too, like to consume chicken soup when I feel something coming on.
Bill, I do agree also I do make the best chicken soup in the whole world! With homemade noodles! Kati
I buy the chewable ester C from Hi-Health in 200 mg size. They taste like candy.
Hello fans.. well, 10 days after the tickets for 5 July Maastricht were officially released, finally, it is now showing on Andre's own site.
3 web sites are listed;
www.vvvmaastricht.nl. However when I phoned them 10 days ago, they said they could only sell me tickets if I could collect them in person. (too far from Italy!)
www.ticketservice.nl and www.ticketmaster.nl seem to the the same site. Already 2 days ago it was not possible to book tickets thru them (unless there is something wrong with my computer)
SO, www.uitbaliemaastricht.nl is the only site, for those of us living some distance away, to book tickets thru; and gosh do I feel sorry for those who rely on Andre's site for ticket info;
at the time of writing, in the whole of A section there are only 4 single seats available; B2 has 3 seats together in row 30 ( this means 58 rows from the stage)
THANK GOODNESS I discovered your site a few months ago!
As far as I can tell, tickets for 4th and 6th July have not yet been released. I phoned the tourist office a few days ago, and they said they think tickets might go on sale in about a week to 10 days from now.. I keep checking...
Note for Al Girard or Bill,
Al you mentioned that you have an all-region DVD player and I know Bill was looking for one. Well I bought a Toshiba last year from Amazon and it stopped working. (no DVD player and cannot play Andre – oh gee). It seems that the seller bought some Toshiba players and modified them to play Pal. Now I need to find a new one. Do you know of a legit place to get one? Thanks much
Thank you Bill!! You're great!
Would you beleive that when they sent me those pins with andre's picture, calling me an Ambassador? How did they know, what color of suit I plan to put on? It was perfect match!! Kati
Obviously, Andre is in touch with St Peter......obviously, St Peter told Andre what color suit you'd be wearing, even before you made your decision
Bill, it was just so funny, that I had a matching suit, I did not buy this to match with the pin!! Kati
Punctuation Police, it is believe!! OK? Kati
As André and the JSO leave our shores, I wish them safe and happy travels! Their music and concerts have brought so many, much happiness and joy.
A personal wish to André and JSO: Please be safe, happy and healthy always, and come back to us again soon as we love you very much!
Your beautiful words echo all our wishes and thoughts Marlene. I do hope that Andre and the JSO will get plenty of rest as they prepare to bring us more happiness in the coming months. Thank you Andre for bringing so much joy to our lives.
I want to add my wishes for safe travels and a good rest. We love your music and the wonderful concerts you brought. Thank you so much. Please come back soon. Lots of love to André and the JSO. Marilyn
Hello everyone. Just a few words for all those in California. My heart and prayers go out to all of you affected directly or indirectly by the fires that burn your beautiful state. I cannot imagine what it is like except that it is truly devastating.
I'm so sorry for your losses.
Hi Kati.... I can't seem to find your report about the Denver Concert..I must be looking on the wrong page.. Hope it was a special time, and that the Pepsi center was full..... Will be anxious to hear... Thanks in advance for information where to look for your spendid report....... have a good evening,,,,,,,,fondly and with much love..Nettie May
Hi Nettie May, Kati's report should be on the Guestbook page. It is near the bottom of the page. She will have photos coming shortly. Take care of yourself and much love and hugs to you.
Hello Netti, I hope You found all the pictures I put up already, just about one third, that I made. In town, there was no more problem with travel, maybe next time, We can coordinate things a little better, and You would be able to travel up to Denver.? Let us work on that! Kati
Hello Dear Fans!!!
It's me, Sarah again. How is everyone doing? It's hard to believe that it's already October. All the trees are so pretty. The dark oranges and the reds, and browns.......very pretty. Hope to hear from y'all soon!!!
Sarah
Hi Sarah,
How are you? Haven't heard from you for a while. Tell us what is new with you. I am so glad you wrote.
Hugs
Hi Shirley, your story about you and Jazz is really funny. That is so familiar. I am just glad you were not hurt. How is your cold coming along?
Hugs
Hi again Jeanine Ann, cold is much better today. I soaked up some sun this afternoon, in a sheltered spot out back. The warmth of the sun and my André music was pure delight. I think I'm catching up on all the news here, finally. Reading Kati's story and looking at all the pictures. Was interesting to read Mr Bill's latest topic. I didn't know Marlene knew so much about the stadiums in Australia. I would have no idea but I plan to look at the link that someone gave. I guess we won't see André again til Dec now. Hope they all get rested up for the next batch of concerts. I was wondering if Suzan had taken ill as it seemed she was not at a couple of the concerts, or maybe she had prior commitments? Have you heard? And, Surprise! There's Sarah!Haven't see you for a bit. I think I owe you a letter! I'll try to get on it as soon as I get my head screwed on right.
Hey, Shirley. I just got the sheet music today for "My Father's Favorite" from "www.sheetmusicplus". Thanks so much for letting me know about it. It is a very nice piano solo, and NOT TOO HARD, thank heavens. Hugs.
Great Marilyn! I ordered a copy too, so I can play it on my keyboard. I love that piece, loved the movie too. I thought Stephanie did a great job of it.And of course, the whole JSO, didn't they do wonderful?
Hi Shirley. Yes, it is a wonderful piece. André's arrangements and superb and the JSO is tops. I also wanted to get "Once upon a time in the West" (See the Tuscany DVD). But the sheetmusic place just had a more complicated score that was VERY expensive (around $100 or a little less)! Anyway, if you come across it, please let me know. It's a very beautiful piece and I get asked what piece it is. Thanks again. Hugs
Oops. Meant to say André's arrangements ARE superb.......I was just watching his DVD of the Dublin concert. The Red Rose Cafe is also very pretty. I think I will try to get the sheet music for that one too.
Marilyn, if you learn all these songs maybe you will in the JSO one day
I was at the concert in Denver this past Sunday, too. What a marvelous show. I bought my ticket 15 minutes after they went on sale in May!!!! I can hardly wait for an announcement when Andre and JSO will be in Denver in 2008. Is there a local chapter of AR fans? I would love to meet others who enjoy this fantastic artist and his orchestra. Anyone here love the Schonnbrun DVD as much as I do?
Everibody I know loves it!! I dod show that to so many people I know, it is Fantastic!! This is the kind of show, everione would like to attend. That is the way to go, larger stage, larger Orchestra, more and more and newer ideas, make it a grand show!! This is what all the people say, I talk to. Kati
Hi Shirley Roberts. Yes, I love the Schonnbrun DVD, too. The people I know love it too. I just ordered another copy of the DVD and received it just today after only a week and a half after they shipped it. That must be a record. It didn't look like it came by priority mail either.
was a two parter, N.Y Memories & Vienna
concert, along with the insert. Imagine we had the same insert in Edmonton, but missed it all after the beginning of the Blue Danube, due to G/S Andy getting sick with food poisoning. He's okay & no after effects. So I was able to "hear", the remainder in my mind. Was very worried about the little guy, who was really into the concert. It was such a different kind of music for him but he really enjoyed what he did see & hear. The whole ensemble will have a month to recuperate before they take to the road again.
Next tour begins in Dec with a short break in March, when they do the 1st stadium concert with the Schonnbrun sets. They are seeen 1st in the gala in Toronto Dec 14 & 15. The last of these in Europe is in Brussels & then they will be shipped to Australia for the Aussie tour. Think the logistics will be a nightmare, but with the four in Europe, I expect they will have all the glitches ironed out.
Marlene, your take on the Oz venues is fantastic & I for one, am impressed with your effort to bring them to the rest of the fans. I have learned a lot of the history of the country over the years, & would love to tour the country someday. If I ever won a big lottery, I'd set up my family & then tour the world & see all the places I have read about. Now I armchair travel on the travel channel which covers a lot of territory. The only thing is they cater to the 50 & younger, so there is much that isn't my cup of tea. I am very familiar with the west coast & think that of all the coast cities that Portland in the prettiest, with Van B.C in the top three, can't forget Frisco either! Each city has its' own unique flavor, which one can appreciate. You just have to open your eyes & ears & enjoy. Had myself an Andre night last evenin & watch the Schonnbrun & Live in Tuscany.. I get my ABC programs early from Detroit, so by 8P.M. I watch my dvds. So I really have the best of both worlds. The rest of the time my T.V is on a memories music station that runs 24/7 so I get a broad variety of instrumental fare. It's Mtrax, & is digital so I don't know if it would be available in your area. I really enjoy the presentations & if it goes off during the night, I wake up. When I can't sleep, I sing the lyrics in my head & that sure beats counting sheep.
Nettie May, Kati has a write-up of Denver on the site. I know just how you feel, missing the concert, but taking a
chance on bad road conditions is the only option you had.
Thanks again Marlene, love to all Marianne
A PERSONAL NOTE OF THANKS TO MY CONTACT AT DENON.
HE PERFECTLY HANDLED THE HOAX PUT FORTH BY OTHER SITES
WITH REGARDS TO THIS PROMOTION.
We are avid fans, and have a number of DVDs of the concerts. Can you give us dates of Andre's coming visit to Australia. We are planning bringing a party.
Any information on Andre's 2008 Australian tour would be appreciated.
Jan - Brisbane
Andre will be in Australia for 20 days in 2008; dates are not definite however sometime around the middle of November to the first part of Dec.
Andre has announced we will perform concerts in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, & Brisbane...no specific date & no information as to how many concerts he will be performing during the 20 days.
Dear friends, I treated myself to an Andre night. Watched both the Schonnbrun & Live in Tuscany. Each time you watch, you see something you'd missed the time before, so it is all new!! Took a look at dvd players in Walmart & I note that Toshiba has one that plays a few different formats, but
no mention of Pal per se. You would have to get a service person to open one
& see if there is any further info in the directions. I just don't buy anything other than Ntsc & have a Phillips which cost me 69.00 & that was when the cdn dollar was way less than the U.S dollar. I am going to check to-morrow at the bank for bank money orders is Euros so I can send an order
without having to rely on a credit card
as I have tried the prepaid variety & did I get shafted. Will see what the bank has to offer, but the one I had just charged fees for each entry in or out plus a monthly $6.00 service charge
& a $2.00 charge on a request for a balance. Won't go that route again. Talk
about disappearing monies. Will have to see what else I can find to replace the credit cards which went bye bye, when I went thru the bankruptcy. That wasn't a whole lot of fun but it is past & one must just carry on the best way you can
I don't worry about stuff like that as I can't fix it so I just do the best I can. Was reading an article in the ntnl
geographic about memory & was it fascinating, how we remember faces, phone numbers & all the things that make us human.Just another miracle we take for granted, but I am of the school
that beleives that one has to exercise the brain just as you do your muscles, so I read most everything I can get my hands on, do crosswords, play scrabble &
talk to people all the time wherever I happen to be, & I've made some great friends this way. Hope your cold is gone
Shirley. I only have allergies, which are because of the dry climate here in
Southern AB, The humidity is usually around 35 to 40% unless we get a rain storm, then the air is wet. I have a humidifier if the air gets too dry. Hope
everyone is well Love Marianne
have just for the very first time sat and watched 3 glorius hours of wonderful music (on our ovation channel) which held me spellbound and wishing it would never end absolutely beautiful thank you Andre
Rieu.
Morning all.. I have noticed that some of the are interested in SHEET MUSIC, me too. Have a look at www.musicnotes.com I think its a great site.. I usually buy my music with 'instant download' facility. i.e. I pay for it through the internet, and then they send it to me electronically, it arrives in seconds, and I print it off.. also, the good thing is that much of the music you can 'preview'.. get on the site, then for example type in the search once upon a time in the west'.. the first page of music appears on the screen, you click a button, and then you here the music play, you can alter the speed, you see a blue line going over the notes.. you can actually print that 1st page and have a practice.. and this will cost you NOTHING. then if you want to have the whole score, you pay for it (usually about US$ 4 or 5 per piece. and voila!
there is another site with some absolutely free music.. www.8notes.com however the selection is a bit limited, and mainly classical..my version of the 'brinsisi' from Traviata is from that..
Hope this helps..
I have Andre's 'la vie est belle' sheet music book, hoping that the wonderful piece of the same name would be amongst the pieces, but it is not..Does anyone know if it for sale somewhere.. probably not, as he wrote it himself I believe..
Happy playing...
Hi Adele. Thanks so much for the info. I will definitely check into these sites. I too have André's music book. Yes, I too would like to have La Vie est Belle sheet music. If I find it, I will let you know. Have a good weekend. Marilyn
Hi. TICKET SALES FOR AMSTERDAM 28 JUNE START TOMMOROW (27 October) at 10.am local time... BELEIVE IT OR NOT, IT IS EVEN POSTED ON ANDRE'S OWN SITE!!!
I do not wish to sound cynical, but I have found it very annoying that Andre's web site is usually so out of date..
Anyone have news of Ticket sales for 4th and 6th July Maastricht? I would really appreciate..
Hi Adele, is it sunny in Italy? Thank you for the information. André people are so busy right now as they work on the new CD/DVD and upcoming specials and probably next year's concert schedule that they probably have little time to work on the web site. I am sure it will be brought up to date as soon as possible. They are working on the Sprookje road soap and then they have the Australian tour next year to plan. I really don't know how André does it all. He is certainly a remarkable person!
Hugs to you
Yes, Jeanine Ann, Andre certainly is remarkable. It would just be so much easier, if , instead of having to work like Sherlock Holmes, trying to find info. of forthcoming concerts, that he employed somebody full time (and I would do it for free) to keep his web site up to date with advance info. on concert bookings. It took me hours the other day to discover that tickets for Amsterdam went on sale today.. and so I posted it on your site; He should not forget that it is people like you and me who spread the word; in the last 2 weeks, people I know in Australia, and California are now looking anxiously to book tickets for his concerts. Before I told them about Andre, they had never heard of him. I think Andre owes it to his 'hard core' of fans to let us know in advance.. My husband is now getting fed up with me spending 4 hrs a day looking for 'new' Andre Concerts'.. all could be resolved, and so easily.... Andre said in an interview some time ago, that he has not got a fan club, he does not want a fan club, and that to him, all fans are equal.. that he has a web site that gives information. but if the information is not up to date, what is the point.. all the best seats for the USA 'spring tour' have already been sold, and they are not even mentioned on his site..Certainly he does not update his site himself, how on earth would he have the time... if he cares about his 'real fans' then he will get someone to do constant updates, and save us all a lot of time.. I leave you with this thought; If I took all the hours I have spent looking to see where his concerts are here in Europe, for me personally to go and see, I could have 'recruited' 100 other people to go and see him. PS; I am still a huge fan, but just a bit disappointed in the administration.
Wonderfull music keep it coming I enjoy it a wonderfull delight.
(CHARLES)(WELLINGTON NEW ZEALAND)
Great music we loved the CD presentations ,we look forward to the Australian visit which we hope to attend , what are the dates of the concerts in Australia, please include us on your e-mailing address

Watch Andre Rieu in France!
Hi Sally - have I missed the point? why did you write 'watch Andre in France'?
What were you referring to?
I know there will be a large Stadium concert, probably end of August 08, and very lightly in the 'Stade De France' , but AS FAR AS I KNOW, there are no furthur details out yet?
Wishing you all a nice Sunday..
I will have to go back to the site and look. They had a nice video advertisement of Andre. It was on French Television.
Sally, it's on the news page. I just watched it.
Hi Shirley, did I miss something? I saw the video from Pru, is this another one? Thanks. Did you get little Andres planted? Hugs
WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH THE DATES THE TICKETS ARE GOING ON SALE FOR YOUR CONCERTS IN..[AUSTRALIA2008]
(great site you all have. love the information and photographs)
We are from Winnipeg and My wife and I and seven friends greatly appreciated Andre's superb performance and that of his orchestra, singers and guests on October 15. Winnipeg audiences are not as demonstrative as those in other centres where he has played but they are nonetheless enthusiastic in their praise and satisfaction. We look forward to having Andre here again.
Never heard of Andre & the JSO until 1993. After being sent a CD from an ebayer, I got hooked & now I cannot get enough of his beautiful musical creations. I have been twice to see the concerts at the Vrijthof in Maastricht. I also enjoy his DVD's.
Good Link from PRU !
Hi Pru, the link did not come through. Thanks
*I popped in and fixed it for her.
Wow, that's like all the best of André.I had tears in my eyes as I watched, it's that beautiful.André Around The World...fantastic!
Good morning. How is everyone. I am seeing the article, but no video. What am I doing wrong? I would love to see it.
Gosh, don't know where it went. There was a video. I'll go looking for it.
Found it. Click where it says "Multi-media" Bekijk hier het nieuwste promotiefilmpje van Andre Rieu
OMG what a great video! Thanks Pru for sending it in, and thanks Sally for fixing it so we could see it!
I really enjoyed it very much.
Have a great Sunday everyone...got housecleaning to do
It's beautiful weather here though. See you all later!
Oh my what a wonderful video. Thanks Prudence! That was super. I too saw the article last night but didn't know the video was there. Oh that gets me soooo excited for Toronto.
Marlene, did you receive the "Masterpieces" CD? It is great and it has "Meditation" for a full 5 minutes and 16 seconds. Also Largo (Winter) from Four Seasons. I love it. Have a great day everyone. Hugs
No, I haven't gotten it yet. Been looking for it, but no luck...other than on Ebay, and they won't send it yet. I'm trying to find out why. Where did you get yours? I want this cd.
Marlene, try Barnes & Noble. That's where I got mine.
Hi Marlene, I got it on Ebay from Sound City Internet. It was a pre-order CD but it didn't take long to get it. Try Ebay again and I will look also. I will let you know. Hugs
Marlene, Ebay has the CD for "buy it now" 9.94. Type in Andre's name and it is on the third page of the results near the bottom. Sound City has it. Hugs
Marlene, if you miss that one, there is another on page 4 but it is $16 something. Shipped from U.S. The other is from Canada. Hugs
I went to Ebay and got this one for 9.94... Thanks Jeanine Ann! I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait!
Glad you got it Marlene. Hope it comes fast for you. I listen to it every day. I also ordered "Andre In Wonderland" CD from Amazon.de
Could not wait. Oh BTW the Masterpieces booklet has beautiful photos of Andre
Tickets for July 4th Maastricht concert will go on sale Saturday, November 3 at 10:00 am, probably their local time. I didn't see them on Andre's ticket shop so check Ticketmaster. Hugs
It will take 7-10 days they said. I can't wait to see the Masterpieces booklet!
please email me as soon as dates become known for Andre Rieu's Ausralian tour, if that is within the scope of this web-page. Thanks!
Hi Marion, Thanks for writing. Andre's Australian tour is scheduled for November 24, 2008 to December 14. Ticket sale dates are not yet available but keep checking here as we will post the dates as soon as we know. Tell us a little about yourself and how you became a fan of Andre. Hugs
Bolero in Seattle.
Serenata in Maastricht
Thank you for this clip. So much talent displayed in one song. Magnificent,
He is coming to Albuquerque on December 11, 2007. I have a ticket. I really wanted to take my 10 year old granddaughter to the concert but, alas, she won't be in town on that date. I'm sure she would love his performance.
Grampa Mike
Hi Mike, Glad you liked the video. We have lots more here so keep coming back. I hope you will enjoy your concert in December. Hopefully you can get your Granddaughter to another upcoming concert.
Jeanine Ann
You can be sure I will be a regular visitor. The Bolero clip shows off all the virtuosos in the JSO. I just hope Carla Mafioletti will be at the Albuquerque Concert. She has such a magnificent voice unlike Suzan Erens who is mediocre at best. Limited range, no power and no stage presence. I lived the by play between Carla and the Australian tenor in the Maastricht show.
Just my 30.02 worth
Grampa Mike
Hey, is that inflation on your 2cents? Anywhoo.. I like all the sopranos Andre has introduced us to. Carla & Gary were funny with their personalities and playfulness. Mostly I see Gary Bennett singing with Mirusia now. Talk about voices..wow. Her's is beautiful. Clear, Crisp. And I was surprised by Laura's wonderful voice. (no reason to be, but I was). She emoted powerful feelings with her singing.
Grampa Mike, will you be at any of the upcoming December concerts? I forget where you are located. Andre will be back in December on the West Coast of North America.
Sally
No inflation - just missed the shift key.
I was never a big fan of sopranos until I heard Carla and Carmen. I loved their "Ode to Joy" duet.
I WILL be going to hia concert on December 11th, 2007, in Albuquerque. I can't wait.
Grampa Mike
Dang, I thought your inflation was working the right way, while mine was taking me backwards. (I get 'Mark Twain' on my typing sometimes too)
I was not a fan of opera singing, other than knowing a few very well known names and songs, but now I have opened up to listening to more variations, singers with their own expressions and gosh, what a world out there!
Ah, Alburquerque. I've never been but of course would love to go. I will see Andre in Sacramento and possibly a few other N. Cal cities.
http://www.cabq.gov/
Thank You Moderator Jeanine Ann !!
I love this song and video
I really enjoy Leon on the accordion!
ok girls, I love all the videos above, but where's my other favorite Dutchman, Benny Neyman?
Boy, isn't this life fun?? Last weekend snow and the concert, this weekend, leaves and more leaves. I got away working just 4 hours today, I was very happy, so i came home, and picked up more leaves! I did it like I danced on the Bolero!! HAHAHA! Kati
It would have been fun to watch you Kati!
Hi Marlene, maybe one day you will have a chance! Maybe I have to travel your direction? Kati
That would be nice Kati!
Tomorrow night is MY night, Kati......beware! <snicker>
Kati, if you happen to see any little GREEN men out in your neighborhood tonight, do be careful! haha....especially if it's that certain green he likes. could be that little "cheeky chartreuse character".
Shirley, I got it already! I know Who it is? Do You? Kati
I DO KNOW YOU, YOU ARE THE PUNCTUATION POLICE AND OFFICAL POT STIRRER! Naturally, in my favorite green! You do not scare me anymore! I grew up! Kati
LOLOL Kati, he will be wearing a green.. opps Chartreuse.. Police Uniform.
Bet that is a BRIGHT town (and friendly too)
Dear friends. Finally got a new DSL modem so I am back on the internet. It packed up last evening & was I bereft!!
Usually check in in the morning & evening to see what everyone is doing. Sally, I enjoyed your intro to being an ambassador & the pics of our maestro which I hadn't seen before. Also enjoyed the French show. could even make out a few words of the language. Had a long time of French lessons in grade school but once I'd grown up there wasn't anyone to practice the language skills. I can read French a little bit but am not really fluent. Mostly because I'm a bit lazy. Started on the family history this afternoon, & found all sorts of interesting stuff. The family from whence I came was a restless breed, & moved around a whole lot/ Originating in Tuscany, then to France, England with William the conqueror in 1066, then in the early 1800's to Boston & then West to Victoria
B.C. back to Virginia City during the heyday of the Comstoke Lode. My gt.gt
granfather ended his days in Dillon Montana, but his wife took the children
two sons, & my gt. gramma to Port Hope
Ont, so they could go to a good school.
The school still teaches young boys, so
it was really a travelling family, It was an Anglican church school which in the U.S would carry the Epicopal name.
Am in the process of getting the old family bible from my neice Francie. She lives in Yellowknife, way up north, but
will be in Edmonton in a couple of weeks so will send it down to me so I can do some verification of dates etcetera. It's probably a good thing that I can remember the folklore & get it on paper fairly soon as none of the children haveheard th stories, which are pretty much in my head. Better get it on paper while I am still able to do so. Missed everyone yesterday, but am back on line & I really do enjoy the camaraderie between all of Andre's fans
It's not quite a fan club per se, but it is a forum that we share not only our love & esteem of the Maestro, but each others live as well, & that is the best of the friendships. Love to all Marianne
Hello Dear Marianne: I enjoyed reading some of the history of your family. It always seems to me, people used to move around more than they do today. You are going to no doubt enjoy your family Bible with all the information it will hold. Most of us came from other countries, not too many generations ago. My own family came from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Denmark, and France and mixed up with American Indian.
Glad to see you back and zooming on the Internet!
Hi Marianne, wondered where you'd been. You are so wise about getting everything on paper. Wish our family had done that in years past. And like you, I enjoy not only learning about Andre but those others who enjoy him too. Each one has a story to tell, and each one has met because of Andre. Talk about widening your world! I was listening to some waltzes this morning & I thought about how most everyone loves a waltz, we've heard them from childhood on. It's such happy music and here we now have Andre who loves and plays all these wonderful waltzs for us to hear.I love all his music, but the waltzs are very special to me. I am going to a Daniel O'Donnell concert tomorrow, probably no waltzs there, but I still like him. I will hobble onto the bus to go to Branson. I say hobble because for the last 4 days I could hardly walk. Hit my knee on the post of the bed. Saw stars & cried but it's better today. Still going through the boxes of kleenex like mad but that's better too. Am I getting to be a klutz or what? (please, don't all answer that at once)
Calling Gabrielle from Garden Suburbs!!!
Hope everything is OK. I haven't heard from you yet. I am hoping to have coffee with Faye from Dora Creek after Nov 16 if you want to join us. Please give us a ring. The number is towards the beginning of Oct Guestbook.
Just like I did nothing! That is how much leaves I got again!! How can I win?? They just took the trash away Today, about a ton of leaves, a front moved in,lots of wind and got another ton again! DO IT YOURSELF! Kati
I put my ANGEL T-shirt on, and picked up 3, I mean 3 45 gallon bags of leaves. Enough is enough. All of these, coming from my favorite neighbors, they do have nice and tall poplar trees! HUH! Now, I look like a chimney sweeper for Halloween! Kati
Well, I hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween night! We don't get any trick-or-treater's here, but I always buy a bag of candy just in case...course, it's the kind I like, just in case!
Kati...it's amazing how many leaves are on a tree! Maybe you will get enough of a breeze to blow them all away!
Shirley, you need to quit beating up on yourself! Hope you enjoy your Daniel O'Donnell show, he seems like a very nice guy. I like his singing too...simple, sincere, happy.
Marianne, enjoyed reading that you are going to be working on your family history. I wished that I had done that long, long ago. My mother knew a whole lot about our family...she always told me things, but I never wrote it down...sad to say now...I cannot remember names, their relations and what they have to do with my family. My cousin is working on a family tree now, I hope it includes our side of the family as well. It should include a part of it, right?
Shirley, I agree with you on the waltzes, they truly are special and I remember hearing them from way back. They are certainly a wonderful part of life.
Waltzes are special all the time. I am happy. I had a chance with my Brother, I do not remember, when was the last time, I danced the Waltz! Kati
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE. I hope it is fun and safe. We don't get any trick or treaters either. We had tons of kids in Florida. We had to line up all the candy so it would be ready when they came. We no sooner had a group leave when the doorbell rang again. It was fun seeing all the little kids in their cute costumes.
Marianne, glad you are back on line. Family history is a great hobby. Wish I had done that years ago too.
Kati, I know all about leaves, we no sooner get them blown to the front of the house (our community picks them up) and they are down again. We get tons in the back because we are surrounded by woods so we just blow them back into the wooded area. Saw a Doe with her Fawn last night in the front yard. They were eating my Hostas of course. They are so pretty. It will soon be time to get the deer corn out for them
Shirley I guess your cold is completely gone by now. Take care everyone. Hugs to all
Dear friends. Happy Halloween to everyone. Usually go to my daughters to
see all the little ghosts & goblins, but after a morning marathon of family history & making generation graphs I was
some kind of played out, so I just stayed put except for taking my son to the store for some of the heavy stuff, he can't carry in his back pack on the bike. No snow here as yet, but it is very cool in the early a.m., like minus
6 degrees celcius, Brrr!! No recent up-dates on Andre's site for some time but
I expect they are all very busy getting ready for the next tour, plus the two dvds which are due out some time in Nov.
They will be fantastic & very well done
as that is Andre's style. Perfection, which is typical Libran characteristic.
Know from 1st hand experience as my late
husband was a mid-October babe & everything had to be just so. Me I am more slap dash although if I make clothes or knit it has to be right or I rip it out & re-do the item. Read two excellant novels this week, Robin Cook's book Critical & Teri Gerritsens,
book the bone garden. The lst is about MRSA which has been hitting schools in northern Michigan & the other is a well done murder mystery with a bit of a twist. Both were much enjoyed. Now I'm starting on an encyclopedia of psychic phenomena, which looks to be intriging.
It's a big book so I won't be able to devour that in one night, & that's not a bad thing, I read too fast but I also remember what I've read so I am always sad when I finish a book, & don't have another ready to go. I love Daniel O'Donnal's music. Its light & danceable,
I've seen him on PBS, but this month it
will be Billy Crystal, Nov 12th @ 10P.M
Eric Clapton, Nov 28th @ P.M on KSPS,
Spokane. Should be a good program of music. Hope they bring back some more Andre Rieu pretty soon Would like to see
one of his Xmas programs during the Season. Celtic Woman will air @ 8P.M on Dec 2nd, & they also are well worth a looksee. Not much news for the moment
except for an August stadia date for the Viennese night. That whole endeavour is marathon effort. Also noticed my last post didn't seem to be slowed down by any moderating, which was a surprise, but I can understand if
it prevents any meaness from creeping into a most happy site. My philosophy has been "if you can't say something nice about someone, say nothing at all"
That's from Walt Disney's Bambi & it was Thumpers' mother giving his a bit of a scolding when he was saying mean things about Flower, & oddly I have never forgotten that & I was 11 at the time, so it made a real impression on me
Would much rather have the good feeling of helping someone in a small way & passing on a little kindness to others, even if it only a smile. Love to all Marianne
Marianne, I've always wished that everyone would follow those words...
"if you can't say something nice about someone, say nothing at all".
It would certainly make life a lot nicer and easier for us all. And if someone actually followed that theory, then they would feel better about themselves too. Now...having said that, we are human and sometimes we cannot say something good about some people, but we also have a brain and reason, and we should be able to decide what is important and what is not. Principle, honor, love, family, belief/faith, honesty, these are things that are important. Whether someone writes to us, how someone wears their hair, who they voted for, whether or not someone has more money, influence or friends, etc., these are things that need be ignored when thinking of how you feel about someone. IMHO
I just want to see if this color thing works…
I’m “testing” I guess.
