André Rieu's Dream Castle
Toronto - December 14, 2007 - The Concert That Almost Wasn't!
As you will see in this video, we never knew how close Andre was to postponing or canceling his Friday night concert. He was already thinking of possibly changing it to Sunday. The following video is in Dutch but you can feel the tension in the last hours before the concert and you can definitely feel the relief and see the tears from both Andre and Pierre after the concert. Being in the audience we were of course unaware of any problems and still do not know what the last minute problems were. We believe it was an electrical problem.
All we know is it started on time and Andre came out in the carriage with a smile on his face. All is well that ends well!

!!MAGNIFICANT!!
THANK YOU MODERATOR JEANINE ANN!
I remember, that all the power failed. Pierre searched everywhere for powerful generators, finally having permission to borrow them from the airport! It was only 5 minutes before the show when the power was on. And, the crowd did not know. Andre was so proud of his son, and rightly so. Pierre pulled off an amazing feat. What a moment. What a concert!

Pierre's Toronto Video
This is a large file.
Allow time to load.
A LONG time, but worth it.
Yes Sally, I remember getting there about twenty minutes to eight. We were a little late because of the fan dinner cleanup and we didn't have a clue about all that tension behind stage. In the video you can see how nervous Andre and Pierre looked. You cannot help but cry at the end. Hugs
I didn't realize that the last minute power generators came from the airport. WOW - good for Pierre. You can tell he loves his dad very much and did not want to disappoint him. Thank God he did not have to. God watches over good people.
This brings back so many good memories. Hugs
I watched Pierre's Toronto Video. It is truly amazing that the show did go on that Friday Night as planned originally. I read also that the layout did not at first pass fire regulations inspection too! Then the electrical mechanisms fail!
Pierre and all involved with this problem came to the rescue by going to Pearson International Airport in Toronto to acquire the proper cables and such!
I don't know about anyone else but I think I am in love with Pierre too! He should have a site just of him!
To Pierre Rieu and all involved in the creation December 14, 2008, thank you for making this night a night to remember. I will close my eyes and imagine giving a big hug and kiss to Pierre too!
Love Much

Thanks Jeanine Ann for sharing this! Talk about a "feel-good" ending to an incredible night.
I can only imagine the tension they must have felt and then have it all come together just five minutes before the concert!
I'm so impressed with everything about them.
Wow what an amazing video to watch. My own homeland too! I was there that night to see the concert with my mother. She bought the tickets for me as she knows how much I love music. My mother saw Andre on PBS one night and immediately knew I would love his music and show. We are both very close so I trust her intuition completely.
It is truly a miracle to know that the show that almost did not happen did happen. I feel honoured to have been there and I will never forget it.
Thanks Jeanine Ann and Sally for your wonderful information. I truly appreciate it.
I believe we are all connected in some way. You are right it not only was a miracle but it also shows how hard work, tenacity, and the will to a make something you have dreamed of happen actually happen. My love to Pierre and all the crew for this.
Last but not least to Andre. My darling man, you are a credit to your profession. Never forget that. I know I never will. You change the lives of many and add joy to them. Thank you Andre. I will close my eyes and imagine reaching out and giving you a big hug and kiss. Thanks for the night I will never forget.
Love Much
