VIOLIN-toting waltz king Andre Rieu says his music is the perfect antidote to recession blues.
"In times like this I think I say with my music 'never lose hope'," Rieu said.
"Music can help a lot in a lot of ways. Music is able to touch your heart in a way other things are not able to any more. My new album is about togetherness and helping each other. That's what we should be doing in times like this."
The Dutch violinist recorded the album, You'll Never Walk Alone, for the Australian market.
It has already gone gold, and contains Yours Forever, the single he released to raise money for bushfire victims.
Rieu will perform at Eastland in Ringwood on Saturday from 1pm, and will also sign albums - a chance for fans to meet him for free, though he insists sales of $1500 post-gig meet and greets for his October tour are "very successful".
