Andre Rieu Adds Fifth Concert To South Africa

He has sold more than 30,000 tickets in South Africa already and still the demand is such from fans that a 5th Sun City Show had to be added.

The chart-topping, Dutch violinist and conductor André Rieu, announced the latest added show date at a Press Conference in Johannesburg during his recent visit to South Africa. The 5th Sun City performance will be held on the 27th of April 2010 at 3pm.

When asked to comment on his upcoming tour to South Africa, André Rieu said: "My orchestra and I are so excited to be visiting South Africa next month! We are very much looking forward to all these concerts and meeting our new South African fans! Just bring your hearts to the concert and we will have an unforgettable night together!"

Judging by the amount of music DVD's and CD's he is currently selling in South Africa, this tour is set to delight many fans who adore his music, but have been unable to see him perform live.

André 's fans are loyal followers and it is fantastic that more of them will get the chance to see the "King of Waltz" perform", says Chris Venter, Head of Strategic Marketing at Universal Music.

André Rieu's album "Forever Vienna" is currently still on the Top 10 UK Album Chart - something unheard of for a recording of traditional waltzes. He has sold more than 30 million albums globally, and has broken all classical concert records, packing stadiums with over 700,000 adoring fans each year.

"South African audiences are in for a treat. His shows will deliver all the trademark European styles and influences that fans have grown to love and expect from his DVD specials with a few extra special surprises specifically for South African fans. This is a not-to-be-missed show", says Sam Hendrikse, the CEO of Hunta Live.

André Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra will kick off their South African tour at the Sun City Super Bowl on the 24th of April 2010 and will be staging one show in Durban and three shows in Cape Town.
