Andre Rieu - Update For SA Friendship Group

UPDATE FOR THE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN FRIENDSHIP GROUP.

This is a reminder that there will be no monthly meeting this month.

Instead, we are having the group picnic on Sunday April 11 at the Para
Wira Recreational Park, Humbug Scrub Road Humbug Scrub.

It is recommended that those coming from the west, s/w or e/w'n suburbs
to meet at the Directors Hotel at 11 a.m., when we are able to carpool
if desired and proceed in convoy to the park. Anyone without transport
are asked to contact us on 82932003 or email, so we are able to assist
in obtaining you a ride.

For those wishing to go straight to the park, please meet at Terry's
cottage, just through the main gates, at midday. DO NOT pay any entrance
fees, as Terry will collect the money during the course of the
afternoon. As suggested previously, considering the entry fee is per
car, passengers are asked to share the costs, including that of the driver.

The picnic is at the 'oval', at the far end of the park. There is enough
bbq space on each of the 3 bbqs to allow a number of lunches to be
cooked at the same time. If the weather isn't kind to us, there is a
good size shelter shed with tables and seating for a good number, to
keep out of the elements. There are 5 tables, both inside the shelter
and scattered around it, with seating for 8 at each, so there is no need
to bring table and chairs with you, unless you prefer something a little
more comfortable.

You are asked to bring all your own food and drink requirements, plates,
cutlery,  glassware etc, as well as a bag to take home any rubbish.
Even though there are bins provided, it would be a nice gesture to remove
all our litter, especially food scraps. Remember, we are sharing the
area with the animals.  Even if food scraps are place in the bins, if
they are near enough to the top, the emus have long enough necks to be
able to rummage and the Magpies and kookaburras are real scavengers.  If
there are any roos around, please DO NOT feed them bread, as it isn't
good for them and can cause them a lot of health problems.

The ground is completely flat, therefore there will be no troubles with
footing. Toilets are close by, as is a short hiking trail to the nearby
lake for those hale and hearty enough for the walk.

If you have a portable CD player, don't forget to bring it along. The
more music we have playing the better. If any of the men would like to
bring a footy, there is a lovely oval on which to kick it about.

Don't forget, it will be pretty cool up there, so don't forget the
woollies.  Even if the earlier part of the day is warm, it will get cold
in the later part of the day and in particular early evening.

For those wishing to stay on, Terry has kindly offered to open his home
to us, for a cuppa and cake.  As he has a key to the gates, there is no
particular need to leave prior to the  stated closing time. He feeds the
roos at around 6ish and I'm sure he'll allow anyone who would like to
give him a hand, a chance to do so.

We would like to extend this invitation to any André fans, who are
unable to join us on a Monday, but would like to meet with other fans
and have an enjoyable afternoon. The more the merrier.

There will be no April meeting at the Directors either, as it falls on
ANZAC Day.

Look forward to seeing as many as possible on the 11/4.

Lyndall and Rob
