Classical superstar André Rieu, one of the world’s most successful artists, is coming to cinemas all over Europe for an exclusive broadcast of the July 2010 instalment of his renowned Live In Maastricht concert. Arts Alliance Media, Europe’s leading alternative content provider, are bringing the event via satellite to cinemas in 27 countries.
The concert is being captured live, and will be delivered via satellite to cinemas in countries including the UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Czech Republic, and Hungary for a special one-night-only performance on July 20th.
A musical phenomenon, André Rieu is unlike anything else in the entertainment world. Music fans can expect the experience of a lifetime when they witness the only classical concerts where the audience jump to their feet and dance in the aisles. The highest-charting classical instrumentalist of all time, having topped the Billboard Hot Tour rankings with his sold-out World Stadium Tour last year, André Rieu will now be bringing his spectacular production to cinemas across Europe.
Performed in front of thousands of fans in the open air in André Rieu’s home town of Maastricht, the highly lavish concerts feature Rieu’s famous 50-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra performing crowd-pleasing music against some of the most elaborate and expensive sets ever seen.
Now fans in 27 countries can see for themselves just why André Rieu is the biggest solo male touring artist in the world. Conducting the Johann Strauss Orchestra with his violin bow – just like the composer himself – Rieu’s onstage charisma and rock-star demeanour make this cinema event simply irresistible, and now fans can experience the show themselves in pristine digital cinema quality.

Isn't this wonderful? If you cannot attend Andre's concert in Maastricht, you CAN see it on the Big Screens! You will Hear, See, Feel the excitement of the crowd, and of course...Andre Rieu!
And if you are going to the Maastricht concerts on a different week, you can see enjoy the concert in the Cinemas!
This is great Sally! Wish we could see him here in the Cinema. I put that suggestion on the survey came around. The United States needs to have this for Andre. Hugs
Hi all Yes a wonderful idea to have Andre's concert screened in our local cinemas The trouble is though the cinema I would like to visit is listed as showing it but when I go into their site there is nothing there about it. I have tried phoning and emailing but had no luck I am getting really stressy about it Help !!! xx
They just released this information. I have a feeling the Cinemas are going to find out just how much we Andre Rieu Fans want our Concerts !!
Please let us know if you get your tickets and how you go them.
Hi Sally. Yes I have my tickets. I decided to go with another cinema group that did have them already advertised on their site. I had an email back from my original choice saying they were confirming the concert at the end of this week so rather than miss out I decided to go further afield
Woo Woo Mr Rieu. I'm on my may to see You You You xx
Hi Josephine Where did you get the tickets, as our nearest cinema is chichester, they said they have been indated with emails and would get back in 7days. The problem we have is having to book a ferry from the isle of wight.
Hi Jennifer. I decided to give up on Chichester and go to Basingstoke instead.I did get an email back from Chichester saying they would be confirming arangements at the end of this week It was a bit naughty advertising something that wasn't confirmed for that cinema Good luck I hope you get tickets xx
Thanks Josephine.Perhaps we will try for Basingstoke
Hi Jennifer I don't know if you have managed to get tickets but I have just been into the Chichester site and they are on sale. They haven't exactly made it easy though It isn't advertised immediately . You have to go into the blue box in the top right hand corner and select a cinema then it comes up under select a film.Tickets £9 which is cheaper than Basingstoke Grrr Good luck xx
My wife & I went to the odeon cinema in Derby to watch this dvd, whilst we enjoyed the programme it was spoiled for us by the sound being out of sync for the first 10-15 mins. After the interval we had no sound at all for perhaps another 15 mins. The odeon manager stated that there was nothing he could do about this and suggested we arqiva and arts alliance media and requested some compensation (perhaps a copy of the dvd they broadcast). This we have done but have not had the courtesy of a reply. Based on this experience we would not rush to book this type of thing again and we hope the live concert in Birmingham in September will be problem free.
Michael, I'm sure there won't be the same type problem at a live concert.
It's not the same thing at all. and I'm sure there will be a dvd made of the Maastrichts concerts.
I don't know who you would contact about compensation.
These cinema setups are far from perfect, still many inconsistencies in
the interconnections & mismatches of interconnections, poor satellite receivers
in the cinemas, all lead to the kind of problems you describe.I was reading about these live cinema
things & seems it just depends on the cinema & the connections. We sometimes get the same kind of blips since our TV stations went digital.
If all the connections had worked it would have been fine, as it seemed to be in other places. You will enjoy the live concert much, much more.
My best friend (Jan) weho just loves and adores Andre Rieu and his music is extremely ill and not really expected to live much longer. She is only in her early 50's and has cancer. Just receiving a card or something from this wonderful man who make her so happy. Please advise me how I can go about getting Andre to do this. I understand hjow he's a really busy man, however, I just want to see Jan smile again. She hasw a portable DVD player4 in hospital and watches his DVD's regularly.
